Sorry if this has been asked before, but we have a couple questions from the guys at my venue about the Duo Attack in general and also Thor/Loki to be specific... any and all help will be appreciated...!!!
Please describe in detail how duo attack works with and in conjunction with powers like Charge, Running Shot, Close combat expert, Range combat expert ect ect ect...Please explain...???
Also with regard to Thor/Loki the portion of the dial that has both Running Shot and Battle Fury...whats up with that exactely...???
also, any other key thoughts you might tell us about Duo Attack that might come up please explain...???

In detail? Simple - they don't. The Duo Attack ability gives the character the ability to make 2 attacks (close or ranged). The second attack is at -1 to the damage value. If they make a ranged attack, it can only use one target.

It's just the way the special powers overlapped. They can still use Shape Change on those clicks (which is the special power that lets them use Running Shot and Shape Change)

The only standard powers that can be used during a Duo attack are Super Strength (for close combat only) and Steal Energy.

It also lets them meet the prerequisite for Opportunist.
Hey, it's something.
Ummm....both charge and running shot are power actions. Why can't you use the duo with them if it tells you to give this character a power action, and as a free action....etc? So basically duo attack is an over glorified probability control? You get to bare bone attack roles. Whoopee freaking da, yet the sentry/void duo is given the colossal exclusive multi attack ability. The multi attack ability IS everything the duo attack should be. Unoutwittable, standard powers apply for both attacks. Im sorry....but screw you whizkids.

This is the main reason duos were largely irrelevant. Split/Merge has made them infinitely more playable. Also, a lot of the new duos are very well designed and playable. Just because sentroid got multiattack doesn't mean duos are bad.

Let's look at Flurry, Exploit Weakness and Blades.
Flurry - Give this character a close combat action....
Exploit - Give this character a close combat action...
Blades - When this character is given a close combat action....
I can give my character a close combat action to use Flurry OR Exploit, but I can't give him one action to activate both effects. On the other hand, whichever one of those powers I choose, I've given him a close combat action and therefore Blades would activate.
So when Charge or Running Shot says "Give this character a power action...." and Duo Attack says "Give this character a power action..." it means I can give my character ONE power action and choose ONE power/ability to activate with it. It does not mean that power action activates both.

No. It's 2 attacks. If you miss one, then I suppose you can look at it as PC, but given that your damage value will decrease by 1, you may want a different target for that second attack (and that's ok).

None of the above seems rules related. I'll neither take it personally nor shall I respond.
Yeah, screw you whizkids. I'm tired of you and your rulz arbutors.
And you WizKids... You're alright. I got no beef with you.
And, I'm not sorry.
I would say something negative about thread necromancy just to complain, but the original poster's avatar brightened up my day. There's no way you can look at it for more than a couple seconds and not feel a whole lot happier. Go ahead, give it a try.

I'm curious as to what old rules thread this maroon is going to comment on next.

"Old rules thread"? Isn't that situational? What's "old" for you could be new for me. This is the second time I've been bashed for "commenting on an old thread" what's the offense? Seriously I want to know? Why do they keep these threads available if it offends members for newbies to learn from them? If there kept up just to read, then make them inaccessible for comments.....otherwise do not troll and mock a member for trying to learn the subject material. It makes you come off as......silly. "im curious as to what old rules thread this 'maroon' is going to comment on next" now according to a sociology stand point, it sounds as though your talking to relating peers, an attempt to 'fit in' by looking down on another. Im sorry but there is nothing more socially awkward than to see someone struggle to win the witty approval of an online social body. I questioned, and was answered......you trolled and were ignored. And by the way......'maroon'? Sigh......you can't even offend me effectively. In what generation does the word 'maroon'' offend? Sorry....try again.
Inconsequentially, congrats on being the cause of the very thing you mock. I only commented on this 'old thread' because of your poorly thought out trolling. Ironic eh?

Next time, please don't. There was absolutely no reason to come back to this 3 months later.

SEE? Your acting distressed over bringing up an old post. I don't understand this, does a puppy die everytime someone post on an old topic? Now since your name and avatar is backed by a reddish salmon color im guessing your an authority figure so I have no choice but to obey your request....unless I want to get electronically disciplined (if you haven't already) But im still wondering why im the one getting scorned when another member called me the bugs bunny equivalent of an idiot. I've been disciplined on lesser offenses.........but as you command normalview
The problem with commenting on old threads is that the rules change. This particular thread was started in January 2010, so the answers would be according to the Fantastic Four rulebook as that was the current rulebook at the time. A lot has happened since then, and bumping old threads up can cause people who are skimming through the threads to think that the old answers are still current - it has happened in the past.
That is why threadcromancy tends to be a bad thing, particularly here in Rules of Combat.
By the way, the orange background is the mark of a Rules Deputy, so you are in a way correct that normalview is "some kind of authority figure". He is not a moderator though - that is signified by a user name in red. Also, if you were to get "disciplined", you would know about it.
I do have to say though that you really should consider a less combative manner of posting. If you had just ignored the old posts this thread would soon be forgotten, but now a lot more people will see you throwing a fit over being called "a bright, rich, deep, or dark red color". Congratulations.
