Ach, sorry. I had the character numbers wrong. Batman and Robin could simply switch targets, though, and the result would be exactly the same. Wouldn't be much point in outwitting ES/D then, but I figure my mistake, my loss.
Lex Luthor seems a bit taken aback by the severity of the attack. "Well now Batman, I should have guessed you wouldn't be too far behind Robin. I should've known you just can't trust Robin all by himself. Well, if you must know, there's been a sort of cosmic shift, and I am the centerpiece in this whole operation. With my brilliant mind augmented by this gentleman's vast knowledge, I am unconquerable. I assume you don't know who this individual is, so I shall inform you that his name is Egghead, and due to this cosmic shift, our reality has been slowly merging with another dimension, allowing our combined intelligence to meet. It was fate, really."
Egghead continues the speech, "You see, Man-Bat, or whatever it is you're called, you stand no chance. I may be bleeding slightly, but it makes no difference. You'll fall to our superior might, and you will end up begging for mercy, just like your friend." Egghead motions further on in the crash site, "We have someone you may know stashed here in this area, but only Lex knows for sure. You'll have to beg for his mercy in order to find them."
"That is correct, Egghead. Now Batman and Boy Wonder, bow before your lord and master, Lex Luthor!"
SECONDARY OBJECTIVE ADDED: Find your friend located somewhere in the ruins.
Both clear, too busy absorbed in their own power fantasy.
(I actually made even more of a mistake. Batgirl doesn't have Perplex on her first click, so Lex should only have taken 2 damage from Robin's attack.)
Turn 3:
Batman is unfazed by the scientists' megalomaniacal ranting.
"This 'shift' you're talking about must have scrambled your brain, Luthor. I don't know what you hope to gain from this, but you won't get it."
While Batman keeps the two supervillains occupied in monologuing rather than reaching for more gadget weapons, Robin slowly and carefully begins to sneak away, while Batgirl starts searching for the hostage -Luthor's bombastic declarations were clearly audible over the commlink.
Leadership roll: 3, not that it matters.
2 actions.
Batgirl Leap/Climbs to H10
Batman Outwits Egghead's Pulse Wave.
Batman and Robin clear.
Batman gets a contingency plan token.
Egghead takes a swing at Batman, catching him off-guard. "You thought you could barter with us? We're long past that stage!" (needed an 8, rolled an 11 to deal 1 damage).
Luthor answers the hurt Dark Knight, "Oh, but I will Batman! You see, if one studies this phenomenon hard enough, they can discover things about this new world, and they can dominate it, as Egghead and I have done. You were not going to be our first victims, but since you'd like to get in the way, you will be.
Oh Robin, where do you think you're going?" Luthor shoots another ray gun at Robin, immobilizing him once more (Outwits L/C).

Yes, that would end the scenario. It's kind of like a Mexican stand-off, with Batman trying to reason with Luthor until the others could find the hostage. It's not anything to apologize about. I like games that are about more than just beating the crap out of the other guys' forces (though that may have to do something with the fact that I usually come out on the wrong side of those equations).
Turn 5
Luthor casually replies, "Well, I'm sure that you'd love to know, wouldn't you? But where's the fun in revealing the plans? Oh, alright, don't start crying on me, I cna't stand to see you like that. I've brought with me a very special friend that I'm sure would love you to save them: Captain Gordon! But you'll have to find him on your own...now unhand me, I have business to attend to!" Unfortunately for Luthor, Batman grabs his shoulder and delivers a blow to the back of his head. "I said STAY, Luthor. Next one's gonna be worse," (breakaway roll is a 2, another fail, 1 pushing damage).
Batgirl, in her frantic searching, hears noises, like a cry for help, coming somewhere from the wreckage ahead of her (remember that she was travelling east, so her forward is also east).

TURN 6
With the commlink open, Batgirl hears everything Luthor says. At the mention of her father, she redoubles her efforts, rushing through the wreckage and looking everywhere.
"I've found him, I've found him!" she yells. "...he's right here somewhere!"
Robin, sick of being a guinea pig for strange rays, doesn't wait long enough to catch the whole message. As soon as he hears the first three words, he declares, with satisfaction: "Then we don't need Baldy making trouble anymore!"
He throws a sonic batarang at Luthor, the shockwave throwing the criminal genius off his feet straight into a cliff.
But then...
Leadership roll: 1
2 actions.
Batgirl Leap/Climbs to N 16, zig-zagging through K 14, L15, L14, M 15, M 14, N 14 and O 15, in that order. (If she finds the hostage before getting to N16, she'll stop.)
Robin attacks Lex, and rolls a critical hit! (2+1 damage plus knockback to E10, pity it's wasted. But I'm curious as to what happens now!)
Batgirl hears the cries for help, but she can't seem to quite find him. You won't have to carry him off the map, since he hasn't been KO'd or anything like that.
Turn 6
Lex Luthor begins bulking up immensely, swelling to superhuman levels of physique. "I will not tolerate this any longer, you shall fall to my might! I have dallied here long enough, I will destroy you all!" (Clears).
