Slattern's defense power.

This came up last night and I just now remembered to post this.

What happens when Slattern gets hit with Exploit Weakness of Psychic blast while his Special Defense power is up. For reference....

UNSTOPPABLE: Slattern can use Invulnerability. After damage is reduced, Slattern ignores all but 1 damage dealt to it.

Does he still take just one or does he take full damage from the attack? A detailed answer would be very appriciated so I can explain it to my judge. Pre-Thanks for the answer.

It is a timing thing - that's it. Reducing damage is part of calculating the final damage dealt. Even if damage dealt can't be reduced for some reason (no damage reducers, penetrating damage, etc), you still jump through that hoop on the way to figuring out how much damage a character will take.
