I've waited 11 yrs for her remade dial, and now that we're finally getting her, I find that I need a rowboat and paddles to stay out of the ocean of tears being cried, because she's supposedly "too good," or "broken". Her dial has powers and stats representative of the character in the books, and a cool ability that COULD be used to pull off some cool game winning strategies, in the right hands, played with the right figs, and assuming the dice rolls go your way. Even if instead of her portal power, she had gotten something like 'she could use phasing and carry 6 or so figs', people would still be complaining, even though she has teleported all of Excalibur in the comics. Being a fan of hers, I don't feel that she's overpowered. But with that being said, what would you rather have, new inovative sp's, traits, vehicles, duos, groovy new game mechanics, and so forth, or do want to see the return of figs like rookie Black Manta from HT and Lex Luthor from Unleashed and so on, figs that were and are nigh unplayable? I want the figures that I spend my $$$ on to be able to do things, not sit on the board and be lame. What some players call 'broken', is actually their sense of denial at the fact that the game is growing, and must continue to grow, or it will wither and die. That is all.
Agreed. If you think a figure is "broken" go take a look at reviews of all the old "broken" figures and you'll quickly realize how quickly they parrish. As quickly as people deem a figure "broken" is as quickly as someone finds a way to permanently obliterate them from each game. Nothing stays broke, son.
It's bunk if the portal does not open BOTH ways. Can you not destroy the Gateway token??? First turn immunity and fast counter strikes seem like decent options for dealing with her.
I like that she has brotherhood keyword so that mags has a chance to use his missile attack. If you are creative you can counter this, some ideas on top of my head build theme pick indoor map barrier around the portal now it's sealed. Fear heimdall to stop charging in, GG gravity strange up your defenses for running shot. I just see this piece making barrier an important and strategic power. Even smoke cloud to stop people from moving as they touch it. I don't fear these pieces they make me find ways to up my game. I won vs chanos, sentoid, glove colossals, ill win against this to.
When are people going to get that there is no counter to her. You cant barrier around the portal because the portal does not exist till she places them. After she places them her teammates kill you. If they have hypersonic you won't be able to respond because they are back in there starting area.
How funny would it be if the brotherhood team base has a dial thats 200 or under, you could have a theme team thatl maybe have +5-7 or more and then have room for something like the bat signal or even the gamma bomb

Ok use print and play, make a pog army of maryjane wildcard mystics and let them come lol, use pieces with range attack that ignore friendly characters they can't get to you big pieces because of MJ they kill them they take mystics, you can move pass you mjs to attack them

How is that helpful at all?! You play a team that can only beat one other team....so you go 1-2...

You underestimate the power of the MJ pog if you think it will only work for this team, I was told I couldn't play it at my venue anymore because it was just crazy powerful. That's a lot of mystics they are taking. It's all in how you build it, I won't give the complete recipe but if your a smart cookie you can figure out the build that works all the way around.

Really this is a stupid idea you do realize Spiral has Pulse Wave top dial right? If you spent enough points on MJ pogs to make a difference Spiral will have more than enough time to Pulse Wave. Or what if she is running with a character with sharp shooter to shoot past the MJ pogs or a or poison character. You can try all you want to counter her but any well thought out team can beat any strategy you can come up with.
In a game Spiral vs Spiral. Could friendly characters, to either of them, use the 4 tokens?
Yes, in that both forces can use the Gateway tokens in a Spiral vs. Spiral game. However, there can only be 2 Gateway tokens on the board at any one time, since her trait removes all Gateway tokens before she places the new ones.
i actually think this piece is balanced. for one, the trait is a double power action, so she has to take damage and if she needs to do take another action she has to wait 2 more turns to do anything, one turn to clear, another turn to actually do the action. and she is 106, that is a little more than 1/3rd of your team (using standard 300 point format).

I think it's really telling that you say it's balanced, then made a cheese team with it, but not a team that shows that it is balanced aka counterable.
