when you drop a special object it must be 5 squares away from any starting area

is it legal to count the squares like you would for range and put the object in the 5th square

ex.
s=starting area
c=clear terrain
o=object placement

sscccccc
ssccccoc
sscccccc

its 5 squares away so yes. you'd be able to shoot someone with your 5 range from there so yeah its good enough for placing an object. That 5th square would just be the closest you could place it.

Even if you use the book, the hammers still come in 5 squares from any starting area.
