I would love to make a 400 point team(what my venue normally plays) with Spiral, 200 point Nul, and Two-Face (from batman). Give spiral the portal action, charge Nul, and either have Two-Face support Spiral or charge, depending on his rolls.
ATLANTEAN VISION: Once per game, give Attuma a free action and place up to six Water markers on the map in squares of clear terrain and at least 6 squares from any opposing character; these squares are water terrain this game. Attuma can use Super Senses when occupying water terrain.
LORD OF THE MURKY DEPTHS: Opposing characters within 6 squares and occupying water terrain can't be given power actions.
...i just noticed what i did there, Breno314. i forgot to say that the team i built was also a team that i thought some people would to play to abuse this piece, but it would be fun to play it anyway. in my opinion this piece would be even more brutal if this piece would be used more strategically.
I wanna get Spiral just so's I can run an "Attack of the Killer Squirrels" scenario:

It does say that you remove ALL gateway tokens, then place 2. The following sentence needs to be defined cause I would call it that the player who placed the markers is the only one that can use the new markers. If the sentence started out with "characters friendly to spiral...
Instead it says...
...Friendly characters may treat squares with Gateway markers as adjacent to each other for movement purposes.
Friendly to me does not change the definition on the power when it is your turn. Or does it?

"Friendly" is always in reference to yourself, and if you are the player that placed the markers, her power applies only to you. Other players turns do not make your opponent's characters friendly to you nor does it make your characters friendly to the opponent. Friendly and opposing characters are a fundamental rule to Heroclix and powers like Spiral's need no further clarification in that regard.

You know that isn't how it works right? unless your opponent wanted to be knocked back for extra damage, you only treat the portals as adjacent if you want to, and only they can control that.
DIMENSIONAL PORTAL: Give Spiral a double power action, remove all Gateway markers from the map and place 2 Gateway markers on the map. Place one in an adjacent square and the other may be placed in any square on the map. Friendly characters may treat squares with Gateway markers as adjacent to each other for movement purposes.
This is the figure of the year. Spiral with a bunch of good hitters or X-Man n spiral with UB = 295 + x-force ata and they are theme team for a whooping 298
I pulled her during our WXM set release night at my local venue and ran her with Phoenix Five Colossus at 150, Oracle, and Starbolt (I had two great boosters that night, admittedly, but a lot of people did). I went 3-0, but a couple of times I almost got in trouble because people got heavy hitters in close and started damaging my chars. She's a great piece, but I don't necessarily think that she's going to dominate the game. That 106 points makes for an awkward number with a lot of combos unless you build around her, and there's several ways to circumvent the portal problem. Sculpt is really nice, though!
Personally, I can only justify using this piece on a Mojoverse theme team. I would rather have seen her with the duo attack ability and a special trait that allows her to carry pieces who share a major keyword with her when she uses phasing teleport, without penalty to movement speed.
WizKids needs to start listening to the players and start making more un-clixed characters; like Jimmy Olsen used to be.
