I know this is an old thread but my question pertains to the original post (and I didn't think it merited a thread on its own).
Can Capture be used to capture a Duo piece?
Per the current rule book (p. 20), this requires "...a close combat attack that deals no damage against a single opposing character with the or damage symbol..."
Bold = emphasis mine
Is there a difference in the connotation between "single opposing character" and "single opposing piece?"
Can an Arkham Guard capture the Dr. Doom and Kang duo (one piece with two characters, and the potential to separate into two opposing characters)?

A single opposing character means that you can only target one "piece", as you stated. A Duo Figure can be a single opposing character. A Team Base can also be a single opposing character.
That line just means you can't multi-capture figures (unless a special effect says otherwise).

As far as I know, a Duo character is considered a single character and should be able to be Captured.
Even though a Duo is supposed to represent two or more characters it only counts as a single character as far as the rules are concerned. So a duo can absolutely be captured.
Don't know if this has be asked but is the team base a character? Or is it consider not a character but characters? We thinking of have a game at 800 points with one character that points are 250 or higher so i was thinking of using a team base for it.
But so is a vehicle, a starship, and a duo. While it's within the rules, if the intent is "single character," then I would check with the judge before bringing any of the above.

A Team Base is a single character, however when determining if you have a theme team it counts itself as 1 character per 100 points or fraction thereof of it's cost. (Using watch list updates) At least that's what I took away from that.

Post watch list PG, that's how it counts theme. Currently, count the number of figures attached and that is what it adds to map roll.
