So it recently occurred to me that the wording in the 'how to use an object in ranged combat' section appears to make it impossible to throw an object while using hypersonic speed.

Maybe it is one of the thousands of little changes to HSS that happened during my hiatus from the game, but I seem to recall being ABLE to throw objects with HSS, just never any instances where it happened to be beneficial to do so (it was before the range extension to throwing distance, which meant that it was rarely something worth bothering for).

Is this a functional change that was intended, and I just missed the update while I was gone, or are you still supposed to be able to do it and the wording in the rulebook is innaccurate?

To throw an object, give the character a ranged combat action, even if his range value is 0.

This character may make a ranged or close combat attack at any time during their movement.

Has that changed at all over the years? I don't remember it always being incompatible.

Always has been incompatible from day 1.

It has NEVER been legal. That said I remember doing it with Black Adam (Unleashed) back in the day. And Google searching "hss throwing object rules hcrealms" shows that a LOT of people used to do that with Black Adam, but it was always illegal to do. So I guess it was one of those common misconception things.

If it was on the IC PAC, then you would be correct. If it was on the IC PAC, then day 1 would be correct. If it wasn't on until the HT PAC, then it would be like day 120.

HSS showed up on the HT PAC

And it was IC in May and HT in Sep (holy crap, release schedule, whole new universe in less than 6 months)

I meant day 1 of HSS not day 1 of heroclix. I am sorry I was not more precise. Cheers.
