The problem with cats is that they get the same exact look whether they see a moth or an ax-murderer. - Paula Poundstone | People who hate cats, will come back as mice in their next life. - Faith Resnick
I got this piece in the first booster of Guardians I bought and needless to say i couldn't be happier. His trait and special powers are insane, and even though he only has 6 clicks for 115 points, I think he is well worth it.
Had the misfortune of playing against Thane in sealed and not reading his traits and powers well enough before positioning on the offensive. Hard to deal with alone unless you're packing a nerf kit (Outwit, PC, downplexing, tie-up, Ikon's Neutralizer Lance), because he can wait in the wings until the time is ripe to hit you for 5-6 Penetrating, and on a true Inhumans team Thane is definitely going places.

REClixed: Justice for Dmitri Pushkin (your sacrifice will not be forgotten)! New generic Rocket Red @50-75 points while we're at it? Still no 19DV Defender? (WoS Groot doesn't count)
Power Girl AND Bust.
This guy is a murder factory. With his Left Hand SP, free action Pulse Wave and a little Perplex, he can easily put down even 10 click monsters in a single damage nova. He can benefit from the Inhumanity Perplexes, and even though they can't do damage, he already hits plenty hard. Let his Inhuman buddies work on his already solid AV, or range, or protect him from reprisal with some DV boosts. On top of all this, he's got Trait Support that works in the trenches (a huge perk), fancy Incap. and his own back-end Perplex. He's one of the premier ranged attack options out there.

But he can't use his damage sp with Pulse Wave. He has to use Psy blast to increase the damage dealt

This may be true, but he's not wrong. Without any help at all Thane can do 6 penetrating damage to a figure with two action tokens, then follow that up with his free action PW for 3 (damage depletion modifier, assuming you can single target). That's 9 damage. 1 Perplex sees that go to 11, or 10 if the target has just one action token.
KO'ing any single base figure in 1 turn is very possible, and without even resorting to improbable shenanigans.

Very true. I wasn't saying he couldn't wreck, just not PW for 6 due to an increase from tokens.

Another note, his psyblast SP doesn't adhere to the rule of 3, it's increasing the damage dealt not his stat. So (potentially) perplex to 7 blast for 9 and then single target PW (because the only other person in range has been incinerated) for 6.

Absolutely, good job bringing that up. His P/PB special is worded exactly like a critical hit as you said, so it is not subject to the Rule of Three.

You're evil!!! Just stay away from Black Orders. Hehe.

Nope. Not even his father's cronies can shut down Thane. His PW will ignore the Cull Obsidian trait as long as the killing blow is dealt by PW (which it should be).

Sorry for the bit of confusion, I was referring to the potential 9 damage he could inflict when he uses P/PB. Which could potentially one-shot most of the Black Order keyword figures. Your strategy of using PW to finish of Black Orders is sound.

LEFT HAND: BLACK OBLITERATION: Thane can use Penetrating/Psychic Blast. When he does, increase damage dealt to a hit character by 1 for each action token that character is assigned.
Oh for sure you best be careful against the Black Order. If you're in a position where you can't help but deal 5+ damage to them you might just want to let another teammate take the shot lol.
