@mithril ax: Mantis can Mind Control a friendly adjacent character. The double power action regardless of how many tokens would or would not be placed still counts as one action. The attack that comes free from hypersonic would also be legal.
That is why you can mind control to do charge, running shot, or hypersonic and do the attack.

I'm having trouble unloading mine, so the next step is to figure out how to use him but I can't justify a spot for him on any team I come up with. He has less life at just 7 clicks than every other 200 pt starting dial figure I own except that one terrible Iron Patriot. He has lower damage and worse attack values than most as well. Just compare to the GF Captain Marvel at 200... it's not even close. In fact that dial could have fit for Iron Man almost perfectly.
If we're going to keep getting the same character over and over again, I wish they'd at least put some effort into distinguishing them from each other. This is the same old Iron Man that's been done to death, and this one isn't even done well. I feel the HS might be useful once in awhile, but as a DPA I really hope you can make it count because you're a sitting duck for the next two turns. Alternatively, take the push to that second click for a free attack next turn... but then be down to 6 (!) clicks for your 200 points.
Didn't mean to go on a mini rant here, I just don't like giving up a SR spot to a figure who (a) has been done to death already and (b) doesn't bring anything new or exciting to the character. The best part is the sculpt, and it's not even that good it's just unique for being the only version of him sporting his space armor (well, THIS space armor lol).
Run him w/ Recorder #451 & try to activate Godkiller if you want the most outta this guy. In a larger point game, a support piece to heal him up would be good to have as well, obviously. If you can pull it off & give him the Electro Blast ring, his first click would be a Power Cosmic, colossal damaging, 13-13-20-6 w/ 9 range, 3 targets, & a perplex to apply wherever. That's gonna be pretty tough to beat...but I guess you could say that about a few different Iron Man clix under those circumstances.

Reason: More info
Well in that scenario you've spent 300 points for something that's just not likely to happen. By the time you get the Recorder to his last click to activate Godkiller, Iron Man is long gone against any half decent opponent.

Wish there were either more clicks to his dial or that he would cost fewer points? Why yes, yes I do. But, the sculpt is cool enough to where I just don't give a phuck. The (extra)fun to the challenge is trying to pull it off, because if you do, you know that you're just gonna whoop a$$ afterwards. If one is just as decent if not more so, then one should be able to do better than that in the match. #451 may be okay, but he's no slouch, & the combo of the two is competitive as far as 300 points is concerned, I think. Like I had said, a support piece would be ideal to have as well, like sog Void or iim Rescue.

Reason: more detail & to add quote.
Ive played him a few times now and he is a beast! Took down half a guardians of the galexy team alone, and in another game, 3 pacific rim jeagers(on there lower starting lines)! Full dial running shot and some hypersonic speed is an amazing amount of mobility, tons of perplex and outwit, a possible free ranged attack with two tokens is sometimes worth letting him take a push damage. I only wish he had another 11 on attack but otherwise hes great! Never lets me down. My new go to tony.

His dial is, by no means, bad. It's his "Dial VS Cost", that's the issue.
Yes, it has been reiterated a thousand times. But you're paying 200 Points.
I feel:
- Either, we deserve a tiny bit more from his dial (say an additional click of life or two);
- Or, we shouldn't be paying 200 for that kind of dial.
Recently, if I'm not gonna play GotG Mantis, I'm not playing this version of Tony.
Well I just played another game with him... after picking up the omega drive he almost single handedly defeated a 350 point darkseid from the legion of super heroes. Maybe im just lucky, but id pay 200 for that any day! Pro tip: take a push damage for the dpa and have outwit and a free attack next turn. Major victory is a great help to him too.
And yes I know he ONLY has 7 clix of life so taking the push is almost suicide. But its worked for me everytime!

but without the omega drive a battle with Darkseid would have gone much differently.
It may also be worth noting he had guardians of the galaxy ata for outwit protection :P but hey isnt that the point? Whos crazy enough to go head to head against someone twice your points without a little back up? Im just sayin hes proven himself to me time and time again now. I didnt even know what darksied was capable of (turns out hes scary strong!) But this iron mans got all the gadgets, gizmos, and keywords you need to play circles around otherwise great peices. I dont even own any resources, so I cant even comprehend what hed be capable with one. But he doesnt even need one! Look at the possibilities! Think outside the box! :)
and I do: LOVE me ata's, but saying a figure is great when he has an addition that he can outwit through walls and that which cannot normally be outwitted is a no-brainer
True, but im not saying hes great because I got lucky and picked up an omega drive. Hes just plain good. Improved targeting hindering and characters, full dial running shot with a hypersonic speed option, good stats the whole dial, and a ton of perplex and outwit with a possible free ranged attack! And in a 300 point game you still a third of your points to work with! Hes got great keywords for theme teams and atas as well. And nowadays 7 clix is a fairly long dial, even at 200. And atleast its filled with impervious, invulnerable, and toughness energy shield. Theres just so much he can do. Hes always my mvp, sorry if he doesnt work out for you guys but he plays even better than he looks on paper!
I never play 300 point games, mostly 500 or 1000 point battles, so my opinion based on large point games is that he rocks. His movement SP really makes him helpful in assisting other GotG pieces and that upfront perplex lets him have a 19 defense even without Chase Rocket Raccoon and Star-Lord's assistance. He brings the pain to the opposition and plays like Iron Man in space should. This piece is a must have on all of my Guardians of the Galaxy teams.
