There was a disagreement in a game with the use of Mind Control and Pushed characters.
The attacking player stated that he was going to Mind Control an opponents character that was pushed, in that it had two action tokens on it. The opposing character stated that since his character had the two action tokens on it, the character wasn't cleared and couldn't be used in the Mind Control attack.
Can the attacker use the Mind Control on any opposing character regardless of action tokens and if so, why?
MIND CONTROL
Give this character a close or ranged combat action (minimum
range value 4) that deals no damage. A successfully hit target becomes friendly to
your force. Each target hit may be assigned one action as a free action, immediately
after which the target becomes an opposing character again. Deal this character 1
unavoidable damage if the successfully hit targets’ combined point value is 150 points
or more.
That's why you can target a pushed character. Nothing about having 2 action tokens prevents being given an action as a free action.
You can still poison, outwit, leadership, sidestep and perplex with a pushed character so why would you not be able to give them another kind of action as a free action?
Yes. Mind Control lets you give that figure a free action and any figure can make a free action regardless of how many action tokens it has (assuming nothing limiting how many free actions they can make, of course).
[edit]: Darned ninjas.
-Heroclix is not a game of logic, it's a game of strategy .... after all, when's the last time that you saw a giant (using a stealth ability) that was hiding behind a swingset... and nobody could SEE him????
