If a character had a trait that said that they possessed some power, I would say that it matters for Morbius (they possess the power) but not for Rainbow Raider (it is not on their dial).
Ok so...here is a question..which goes along with its very own hypothetical situation...yay. So to make this easier I've set this up as a team fight...just bare with me for the example.
The team:
BMAO: 011 Captain Jim Gordon
TMNT: 021 Shredder
(doesn't matter for the scenario)
vs
WM 25v Dr. Manhattan
WM 001 Rorschach
So, here comes the big question.
that's what it says: we can agree on that. Now, let's say Shredder uses his RETRO MUTAGEN RAY and outwits something on Dr. Manhattan(who has nothing that say's he can not be outwitted or have his abilities countered), so Dr. Manhattan now has Earthbound/Neutralised(E/N: This character possesses ,,,) instead of its combat symbols. This power can't be countered or ignored. Then Captain Jim Gordon uses Capture, succeeding (rolling at least a 10) and the big blue doc is removed as a captive. So far it all makes sense, but what happens when Shredder's outwit ends? Does Dr. Manhattan automatically return to the field as the conditions for the capture ability are no longer met, or does he remain a prisoner?
I would say he is still a captive. You met the requirements to capture him, and as far as I can tell he needs to be rescued to come back to the map.
Just play it safe and KO Rorshach first. Game over once the Dr is captured
And i believe you can give a character who cannot have powers countered EB. Shredder just has to use Outwit, not counter a power.

A HeroClix game ends when any one of the following situations occurs:
• Only one player (or zero players) has characters left on their force after all current actions have been resolved, OR
A captured character is still on your force. If Manhattan where to be released because of a ruling, he would pop back out.
Been this way for just about a year (got errata'ed when people were going to try and play Grasshopper to force a roll off at Worlds).

I see. Seems a very sneaky tactic.
I still think the captured character should remain off the map. Capturing only requires or ; and coming back to the map requires a rescue per capture rules. Nothing says the captured character has any effect on their own capture as they are off the map.
At any rate, we need:
1)clarification from an orange for now
2)an update to capture rules from WK (they are very much out of date)

For what ever it may be worth:
I would agree once captured the figure is removed from the map until a condition occurs to release the captive such as a successful Power Action to do so or Countering the Capture Ability.
