Hello everyone,
I had a few rules questions that came up last night in our games, and I would like to check with you all for the answers. Just to make sure I am still doing things right, and to fix/learn if I am making mistakes.
First Question.
Can a player Mind Control an UNPILOTED vehicle? I am not very familiar with Vehicle rules, and we could not find this answer last night.
Second Question.
This is more of a verification to show a player. I know I made the right call here (I hope...)
If your force includes a RESOURCE, you are not allowed to have any special object on your force. Correct?
Now, Where is the rule that shows what denotes a Special Object? Just so I can show the player BOTH the Resource/Special Object rule, and what shows what is a Special Object.
Third Question.
This one is to clear up some confusion for me...
Colossals can not be knocked back.
What happens if the Pym Tank is used vs a Colossal is it moved by the 'expanding' tank? or does the tank get placed adjacent to it and not move the Colossal? (sorry for not knowing all the rules for the Tank)...
Last Question.
A Colossal figure is Carrying 2 figures and the Pym Tank. It moves and ends its movement directly adjacent to a section of elevated terrain. Can he place the carried figures on the other level of elevation? Ie, he is still on the 1st elevation, but ends his movement next to a building. Can he drop the figures he is carrying on top of the building on elevation 2?
(I think not, but wanted to be sure)
Thanks in advance,
~Mad

UNPILOTED vehicles can be mind controlled, but unless the vehicle has the AUTOPILOT feature, they cannot be given an action.

You are right. Objects with special effects are Special Objects and are described in the 2014 RuleBook on page 20-21. Resources are described on page 21, and the description states you may not have both resources AND special objects on your force.

Colossals absolutely CAN be knocked back, if they are hit by a another colossal. However, MULTIBASE characters CANNOT be knocked back no matter what. That includes Peanut Base characters too.

C]Characters can’t be knocked back by a character smaller than themselves. In order to be knocked back by a character, it must be the same size as you or larger.
Colossals can be placed.
in reference to your specific situation:
Quote
...That Can Return To Its Original Size: When an adjacent friendly character attacks an opposing character, the attacker may modify its attack value by -1. If they do and hit, replace Pym Pocket Tank with WizKids MP17-006a Pym Particle Tank on its orange starting line with one of its squares adjacent to the target. If the attacking character is named Ant-Man, Giant-Man or Hank Pym, use the yellow starting line instead. When replacing this character, you may ignore characters and blocking terrain when placing it, then destroy any in squares it's placed into. Any characters in squares it would be placed into are placed adjacent to it and dealt 2 penetrating damage.
The characters in question, colossal or not, are not being knocked back, they are being placed.

This one I am unsure of. The rulebook on page 14 says that Characters at different elevation levels are not considered adjacent for any game effect. Therefore if the colossal is on lower elevation (grounded) then a character on elevated terrain next to them (adjacent) would not be adjacent for a game effect, to include, I would think, placing them after carry.
However, Colossal characters, because of Great Size (per the E&C) may occupy multiple elevations, so you could probably get around the carry/placement thing with that, if they were on two different elevations.

[E]This character can use ;Improved-M; : ;Elevated;, ;Hindering;, ;O-Blocking;, ;A-Infinity; and ;Improved-T; : ;A-Infinity;. Lines of fire drawn to or from this character are not blocked by elevated terrain or outdoor blocking terrain, and are not hindered by hindering terrain unless the target occupies hindering terrain. This character may occupy multiple elevations. This ability can’t be countered or ignored.

I read through the 4 pages for vehicles, but didn't see them answer if an Unpiloted vehicle can be MC'ed ... I just want to be sure, A LOT of Pym tanks are going to be seen now, and last night it came up, if the tank (after it expands) can be MC'ed?
Thanks for the rest of the answers. :D

Maybe I am being thick-headed, but I don't see it.
I see about the pilot being ejected if you MC a PILOTED vehicle.... but can you MC the Pym Tank after its been 'expanded' when it is UNPILOTED?
(I really hate vehicles...lol)
Thanks, again,
~Mad

"Yes. Since the pilot and vehicle would no longer be friendly to each other, the pilot would be immediately ejected and the vehicle would no longer be able to be given an action unless the vehicle had an Autopilot trait option."
If that doesn't do it for you, direct from the Vehicle rules:
PILOTING: An adjacent friendly character can be given a power action to become the vehicle's one pilot and be placed on this card. Pilots can't possess: ;Duo;, ;Team;, ;Vehicle;, ;Tiny;, ;Giant;, or ;Colossal; symbols and can't be bystanders. A pilot is only a pilot as long as that character is on this card. Vehicles without a pilot can't be given actions. Give the vehicle a power action to place the pilot into an adjacent square. Pilot abilities are traits that are only active when the pilot meets the prerequisites.
Actions. Period. And MC lets a character be given a free action. That's a no-no.
AH... I see now.
Thanks, again, and sorry for being slow about it.
But that makes perfect sense...
Just to clarify, if there are any Autopilot abilities, MC can use those?

Yes. That was specifically referred to on page 3 of the link I gave (its hard to find, though, but there I promise!)
