If i use an ID card to call in EW017 Green Lantern will he have Battery tokens on his card?
THE POWER BATTERY IS DRAINING... I HAVE LIMITED TIME: At the beginning of the game, place 8 Battery tokens on this card. When Green Lantern attacks, remove a battery token. When there are no Battery tokens on this card, Green Lantern can't make range attacks or use powers or abilities.
Im pretty sure not bc he woud be off the map at the beginning of the game, but id like to doublecheck as well as find where the official ruling on it is.
[C]Game elements on your sideline are part of the game, but are not considered part of your force during the game or your starting force for force construction purposes. You may not use the effects (Powers, Combat Abilities, Traits, etc.) of any game element on your Sideline unless an effect specifically mentions otherwise.
Are you sure on this? I thought they had ruled at one time that ... it was either Hawkeye or Green Arrow who had some Trick Arrow tokens... would come in with theirs?
EDIT:
Didn't find what I was looking for, but found this under ID Cards:
THE HELMET OF NABU: Doctor Fate may begin the game equipped with SMWW #S100 The Helmet of Fate without paying its cost. This object doesn't count towards your force. When Doctor Fate clears action tokens, remove a Host token from that card.
If I use Dr. Fate's ID card to call in SMWW 6-006 Doctor Fate can I choose to have him begin the game equipped with the SMWW #S100 The Helmet of Fate using his Trait?
ANSWER: Yes. Note that, if you do, the object would be considered to come from outside the game.
= = = = =
EDIT AGAIN: I now notice the differences in wording. Fate says "may begin the game." Green Arrow says he "begins the game with...." and this is asking about "At the beginning of the game." There might be an issue there, knowing how WizKids sometimes uses two or three similar wordings for very different effects.
Yea there is a distinction between "beginning of the game" and "begins the game (with)"
For instance, the Green Arrow below WILL have the trick arrow tokens on his card id he gets called in as an ID card character. And that is because of the wording "begins the game"...

Yes, that is correct. However in that trait (Trick Arrows) it specifies that he "begins the game" with the tokens. In this case the tokens are placed during the beginning of the game phase which occurs before the first round of the first player.
Trick Arrows trait on wkD16-004 Green Arrow
Quote
TRICK ARROWS: Green Arrow begins the game with 5 Trick Arrow tokens. Give Green Arrow a free action and remove a Trick Arrow token and choose: Energy Explosion, Incapacitate, Precision Strike, or Penetrating/Psychic Blast. Green Arrow can use that power this turn.
[C]The “beginning of the game” phase occurs after all applicable game elements have been placed on the map for game setup, but before the first player takes their first turn. The player chosen as first player resolves all of their “beginning of game” effects first. That player must resolve all of their “beginning of game” effects before the next player resolves all of their “beginning of game” effects.
THE HELMET OF NABU: Doctor Fate may begin the game equipped with SMWW #S100 The Helmet of Fate without paying its cost. This object doesn't count towards your force. When Doctor Fate clears action tokens, remove a Host token from that card.
Whenever Doctor Fate enters the game, he is beginning his time in this game. So this effect can trigger. Maybe he actually starts the game with the rest of your force, maybe he comes in later... doesn't matter. Either way, that's when he begins the game.

This time, though, we're referencing specifically to the beginning of the game. That only ever happens, well, at the beginning. Any other time during the game will not be the beginning.
The thing to remember is that "at the beginning of the game" is a triggered effect, that can only trigger, well, at the beginning of the game. And can't trigger is a figure is on the sideline or outside of the game, obviously.
"Begins the game", on the other hand, is a static effect that just is. It is not a triggered effect, it just happens.
Is the "begins the game..." clarification actually documented somewhere official? im just expecting certain opponents to not believe/understand the distinction and itd be nice to have something ready.

Ya'll've been a great help!
You've been given one. That bit above with Dr. Fate was taken directly from WIN.
If you want more, you can either search on WIN or ask about your Green Lantern question directly.

Here is another link to SFSM Chameleon and using a character as a Disguise from the sideline who has a "begins the game" worded power (Mysterio and his Illusion tokens).
The ruling they give clearly allows sideline characters to enter the game fully being able to take advantage of their "begins the game" effects.
