I really want to like Daredevil but compared to the other chases he just seems so weak, with no clear purpose. Is he supposed to stay in the back and support? Nope his only support power is normal leadership and while he can spawn ninjas they're pretty weak. Is he suppose to run in and join the battle, he can but with no improved movement his own protection of stealth hurts him.
He works best if he's pared with stronger attackers and if you skip the generic hand ninjas for the most part. Silver Samurai, Gorgon, Elektra, and Wolverine, Agent of Hydra make a pretty good 500 point team. You can actually get Daredevil into the battle without worrying about being focused. Also if you don't mind having two of the same character on your team The Advocate works great with him.
An extremely finesse Daredevil, who really needed Willpower on his defense special clicks to be perfect. Still very playable, just keep him in the pack pumping out ninja's, especially in small point battle royales. Then when the time is right charge in swinging for a potential 6 damage depending on how many ninjas are sitting in Hindering Terrain.
"Our mother has been absent ever since we founded Rome; but there's gonna be a party when the wolf comes home."
I played him in a 300 point game with CW Namor LE and AdW Black Panther SR and Sfsm MEPHESTO at his lower dial. I was able to generate 10 ninjas, 6 atlantian Warriors and 5 wakadan warriors on the map at one time.
I gave this a try in a 200-point event and I was not impressed. At most I sourced 4 Hand Ninja, but their 'unique' Empower simply was not that useful, considering they lack range attacks and can only be placed in hindering terrain. On defense, this figure is just too soft. This figure cannot both attack and generate Ninjas, and he's also prone to get stuck in hindering terrain himself. A mediocre figure that can summon other mediocre figures. There are a few shared-keyword characters that can use the summoned minions well (SFoSM Kingpin, Wolverine Agent of Hydra) but that isn't what I want from a chase "Leader of the Hand".
I don't think this guy can do 6 damage. The ninja Empower is a Unique Modifier, so the most the Chairdevil could do is 4? Correct me if I'm wrong.
I used him today, finally. While my overall strat was lacking I just didn't care for this piece. Not sure if it's because I played a bad game (dice rolls sucked too), but he either pumps out ninja's who need hindering (I didn't have much) or he can mix it up, but with no damage reducers he's not going to last long (and you need good SS/SC rolls on top of that and I couldn't roll for s**t today). Think this guy, while cool as hell looking, is going to be sold/traded.
I just picked this guy up with 6 ninjas. Maybe I should have read these comments first! Hopefully he does well for me, I am thinking of running him on a team with Space Mikey so there's always going to be smoke cloud up.
Very surprised at the numerous negative comments on this thread. I've never owned this piece, but have always wanted to because the multiple times I've played against him, he and his Ninjas were very effective and annoying. He's certainly not deserving of the 2 Stars he had when I posted this. And hey everybody, he has "Indom" now, which should satisfy a couple of the complaints below.
