Uhm, yes they do. Any character that attacks and deals damage to a Mystics character will take 1 penetrating damage after resolutions.
MYSTICS - Each time this character takes damage from an opposing character's attack, after resolutions deal the attacker 1 penetrating damage. Uncopyable.
Since the character reverts before the after resolutions happen, the character should be safe.

If I Mind Control a character and have it attack a character that can use Mystics, who takes the 1 penetrating damage? Is it the Mind Controller or the character that was Mind Controlled?
The character that was Mind Controlled is the attacker. Since it attacked and damaged the character that can use Mystics, it will be the one dealt the 1 penetrating damage.
Sorry for causing confusion - all I meant was that I hate Mystics TA and so I'm always happy to damage somebody with Mystics TA without taking the Mystics damage. It rarely happens with a MC crit miss, I was just trying to look on the bright side of the OP's situation.

Hard maybe.
It doesn’t matter if he reverts or what happens to the attacker. It states that when the mystic character is damaged the attacker gets damaged.
Careful with those energy explosions.
Just like a Mind Controlled character takes damage from a critical miss rolled while under your control they also suffer the consequences of any attack they make and that includes taking Mystics if they attack and damage a character with the Mystics team ability.

That's my fault. I completely misunderstood what you were saying. Appreciate the explanation though.

It only says the attacker is dealt damage. It doesn't state anything about the attacker needing to be friendly or opposing to the attacked (and damaged) character.

Yes it does.

If I use EE and end up damaging my own mystics character with the attack, the attacking figure does not take the mystics damage.
Right, my bad. But the mind controlled character is still opposing to the Mystics character at the time of the taking of the damage (of the attack). Therefor it triggers Mystics and after resolutions, it takes the damage while also reverting back to its force.
I remember mind controlling Cheetah and having her Flurry/Blades. I managed to hit Abra Kadabra for five, take Mystics and then critically miss for an unavoidable.
Respect to my opponent for running an Injustice Gang theme team!
Worst thing was at the start of the game he told me the only reason he put Cheetah on the team was as point filler.
"Sigh" I miss old Mind Control, it didn't always work, but when it did it could be hilarious.

Agreed. As written, it created too many weird interactions so they overreacted with the new way. I sent them a suggested "fix" to make it so you can only use standard powers the figure can use... it makes them the appropriate power level while the current way makes some much weaker and some way more powerful (as it's almost like a RS/Charge that's given to every figure).
Unfortunately, I missed the window before they made everything final so they supposedly put it in their "discussion for the next change" files. Hopefully they accept my suggestion.
