"KARMIC BLAST: Penetrating/Psychic Blast. When Adam Warlock uses it and hits, give the hit character a Karma token. // When an opposing character with a Karma token makes an attack, after resolutions remove all Karma tokens from its card and deal it penetrating damage equal to the number of tokens removed."

If an opponent with a karma token damages warlock off his attack special, does he still remove a karma token and take damage? Or does the karma token remain until warlock heals back to his first three clicks?

The trigger is "when an opposing character with a Karma token makes an attack." If Warlock has the special power when the attack is made, then the effect will go after resolutions even if he loses the power.
