Stores may order one (1) Star Trek: Attack Wing Tournament Brick for each Month One (SKU 71508), Month Two (71509), and Month Three (71510) OP kits they order
To me, that sounds like you're getting the same brick for each month. If not, I'll be moving from the "cautiously optimistic that this will be tolerable" to the "screw you WK" camp.

I called it a failing because, based on your posts, it sounds like you want to like the game, but can't specifically because of the LE/blind content. In your own words, you're an "all-or-nothing" kind of guy. It's WK's failing that they don't make everything equally accessible, but it's not their failing that you can't find a way to have fun with the majority of stuff that is equally accessible.

I thought that's what I said, only clarifying that it's a ratio of 6 ships to every 10players, since each OP kit is apparently based around supporting 10 players.

I already expressed my complaints and concerns with this move early on in this thread, and it hasn't seemed relevant to repeat them since then. Since we're getting them, like it or not, at least for the Borg event, I've also been considering how they could be implemented that I would find the least objectionable.
Mostly I'm just balking at concerns that this will ruin the game, though. WK does a lot to promote in-store games with their OP program, bub not everyone likes it, and people should feel free to take it or leave it. Don't let the game company define how you have to play the game, just find some like-minded friends and have fun with it the way you want to. I like the design philosophy of a friend of mine that writes miniatures rules: "Once you've bought the book, they're more your rules than they are mine."
I guess if I really cared about WK hearing my concerns, though, then I'd contact them directly, and maybe I will. At least then, someone at WK would probably read it, although I'm sure they're aware of some of the internet chatter, too.
I think you're right, though, what actually matters to WK is money, and I'm most likely going to be skipping the Borg OP events if my venues go the brick route. If it all comes together in some form that I find tolerable, I might go along with it for as long as they don't change anything. Like many, my main worry is that if the first round of brick ships is a success they'll take it as a sign to push the envelope and try other nonsense like rarity schemes, or increasing the number of blind releases.
Have we confirmed that there are only 5 ships repeated for the three months? I thought when I saw the order page there was a month one brick, a month two brick, and a month three brick.
I think you are mistaken. Each month had a different OP kit sku but the brick was a single sku.

Right, and the LE ships are 3 per 10 people, these are half as rare.

Wizkids doesn't provide many opportunities to contact them directly, and the ones they do provide they generally ignore or delete anything that disagrees with them or points out any short comings.

I simply opt not to try. My time and money will be spent elsewhere.
There are 542,000 children in foster care. Talk to your local foster and adoptive agency. You could change a life.

I tend to agree with this point of view. Wizkids has a horrible track record as to how they treat their player base, if I didn't absolutely love Star Trek I would definitely choose to not support them. If the game gets to the point that a good portion of its blind packaged, multiple rarities, chase ships, or over powered pieces then I will definitely stop supporting them. I do not want to play a game I only have access to parts of.
And to me, this move by Wizkids is the first step in that direction
Right, and the LE ships are 3 per 10 people, these are half as rare.
Oh gotcha, you meant my math was off regarding the LE ships. I totally forgot about the third one for the judge, good point.

I was just going to message them through facebook. I wouldn't expect a response, but I wouldn't expect a response to an email or letter, either.

Yeah, I won't continue buying either, at least not new ships that are packaged blind.

That's always been the case with STAW, though. LE prize ships are more inaccessible than these are going to be, and even participation prizes are inaccessible to someone unlucky enough to not be able to make it to OP games. It's just a matter of degrees, and at what point "enough is enough" will vary person to person. For some folks, like Hair, any LE/blind stuff is too much, whereas it seems like you're fine with participation prizes and LE's, but blind buying is a step too far. I personally would rather there were no LE/blind game elements at all, regardless of what they are, but if there are still plenty of normally available ships, and I can get by just fine without the LE/blind stuff, then I will.
Not publicly on their page, I'd shoot them a PM. That's the closest thing to an email or letter. I'm not really that worried about getting blocked anyways, though, I get all if my STAW-related news here.
I have no problems with the LE's the blind booster does kind of make me nervous. As an OP thing not so much but the idea of it happening elsewhere is kind of annoying. I do have hopes that at some point all LE's will appear in a future wave or go down in price for those without them

Yes but at what point beyond FF have the done non-blind boosters. At this point we never know what they have plans. I figure if they think they could make extra cash on it they just might. It is east to release something like this with a template already existing and finished.
Also they did the FI factory set too. That has everything from the event, LE's, maps, dice, items and so on.

I'm more hoping that Wizkids love of sculpt reuse sees the figures turning up with different names. Really want a D'Kora for my collection (the micromachine was one of the first pieces of Star Trek merchandise I owned) and would rather give Wizkids and my venue my money as opposed to someone on ebay. Preferably as one of Bok's Marauders but I'll take any.
