Morphing Jar - Morphing Jar is awesome. It’s got a great effect but for some reason, I never run mine. I tend to go for the more Field Control flippers. I’ve found that MJ gets attacked and both you and your opponent discard your hands, draw 5 and then your opponent goes on with their battle phase. Usually slamming you HARD if MJ was your only monster. Making your opponent’s hand back to 5 can be dangerous.
Cyber Jar - Now THIS guy, I love. It was the very FIRST rare card I ever pulled. Most people don’t like this card because “you can help your opponent too”. However, there is no card I like top-decking more than Cyber Jar (and that’s including Pot of Greed). Nothing like facing a field full of your opponent’s monsters and them attacking Cyber Jar. SS Terrorking, Goblin Kings, Archfiend Soldiers, Giant Orcs, Mystic Tomato and other goddies. I still haven’t built a deck without Cyber Jar (except for Exodia). I’ve had this card for so long and put this card into so many decks, that I thought it came in a Starter Deck.
Morphing Jar #2 - Probably one of the most DEVASTATING Jars. If there’s anything better than your opponent’s 5 monsters attacking Cyber Jar, is your opponent’s 5 monsters attacking Morphing Jar #2. It eats your opponent’s Spells, Traps and high level monsters like there’s no tomorrow. You should never, EVER, EVER, set Morphing Jar #2 when you have monsters on the field.
Fiber - I like this card and I have MANY uses for it. I deck this card with 3 “Cursed Seal of the Forbidden Spell”, and 3 “Fiend Comedian”. Cursed Seal is mostly against decks with Field Spell cards or decks that use repetitive Spell cards, like “The Warrior Returning Alive”, “Stamping Destruction”, “Book of Life”, “Card of Safe Return”, “Last Will”, “Monster Gate”, “Reasoning” and the like. Fiend Comedian is my trump card to set behind Fiber Jar. You call this card’s effect right and you’ve won the duel. After all, you’d be playing half a deck.
Vampire Lord – In my Side Deck. V-Lord’s high defense (1500) and higher ATK than a lot of fiends (2000), lets him absorb the effects of Smashing Ground, and Hammer Shot and makes his revival ability come in handy. His second effect is mediocre at most in my opinion, but enough to destroy most traps before they even hit the field.
Tsukoyomi – This card is so abusable and only a rare. Crossout and the trample effects of Mefist and Airknight make this card VERY dangerous. I once summoned Tsukiyomi and flipped Horus LV 8 face-down, used Crossout on it and activated Creature Swap to give my opponent Tsukiyomi and take their Jinzo and ended my turn and retrieved Tsukiyomi back to my hand. 2 cards used (Since Tsukiyomi is back in my hand), removed 3000 attacked and Spell Negator from play, and gained a new monster for myself.
Mystic Tomato – Mystic Tomato came from a Tomato plant that sprouted in the Mystic Plasma Zone. It can retrieve THE 2 most feared 1500ATK or less fiends in the game – Dark Jeroid and Newdoria. He’s also level 4, which makes him a perfect candidate for “The Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler”, which can help you SS either Dark Jeroid or Newdoria from your graveyard, along with any Level 4 fiend you can think of, like Terrorking Archfiend, Giant Orc, and then like. Let’s also not forget that he’s the easiest way to summon “Byser Shock”, who can Metamorph into Dark Balter the Terrible.
And we’ve all forgotten one more Jar:
Dice Jar – Put this card into an Archfiend deck and let your Dice Re-Rerolls end the game for you. A possible 6000 damage to your opponent’s LP is not something you might wanna overlook. But he’s also a VERY scary card without Dice Re-Roll since his effect can bite you in the … as I was saying, a very overlooked Jar. It’s Level 3, so if you Flip summon it, and activate “The Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler” and revive your Level 3 Archfiends. Plus there’s always “Pikeru’s Circle of Enchanment”.

based on what you have said i'm inspired to once again put in my morphing jar #2 i always liked him but didnt know if i had room for it i will see if i can now. with the combination of him and my vlord i can get rid of most of those traps and attack almost care free.
Eh. Im not as big a user of Tomato these days either. Like I said, I used it mainly to get Newdoria, and that's it.
On with the "corruptables"
I had to run to a meeting earlier or I would have gotten to these 2. Magical Scientist and Summoner of Illusions
MS- one of the biggest, best, and brutal beasties in all the bunch--->Balter! (like the Bs?)
Balter is usually the 1st Fusion most go for when using MS. The only exception are those that hit the FTK trick and want to get to Mirage Knight.
we've been talking about Metamorphasis, too. So, it seems appropriate that in order to get to Balter we talk about MS as an honorary member of the Fiend club. The fact that MS pulls such tech as Senshi, Ojama King, TER, FSD, Sanwitch, etc helps to justify the inclusion of him in most decks.
SoI- Ive yet to see any other type of deck make better use of Summoner of Illusions than Fiends. There are 2 major strategies, IMO: Scapegoat Abuse/Metamorphasis and Archfiends. Both should be fairly self explanatory by this point. In a Scapegoat/Meta deck TER sees a bit of play. But that doesnt exclude the others. In fact, get ANY Fusion you want. In an Archfiend design, SoI is almost as sick as Fiber Jar. Get FSD and it wont be destroyed. Get the BIG guy, BSD and you can use Pandemonium to find your bigger Archfiends, and the ball gets rolling.
And how could I have forgotten one of my favorite for Necrofear decks:
Tribe Infecting Virus:
Calling this thing sick is kind of a bad pun, I know. But, in Fiends, I would choose this over all others. My usual deck of preference includes a Necrofear and Night Assailants. What card better meshes those 2 disparate effects better than TIV? Here was the nastiest move I ever pulled with it. (Keep in mind, this takes some careful setting)
:: my opponent had 2 monsters on the field, no s/t. I had 2 facedown s/t, 1 face down monster, and a face up SoRL on its last turn. Since this is using Necrofear, its appropriate to mention that I had 2 Fiends waiting in the Grave: Goblin King and Newdoria
I flip summoned Cyber jar and got a Giant Orc out.Necrofear went to my hand. My opponent got 2 Gorillas. I Normal Summoned TIV and flipped up DNA Surgery, calling Fiends. Dropping a NA to nuke the field, I Special Summoned the Blue Lady, removing Orc, Newdoria and GKing. And I got Cyber back. Time to hurt. I paid 1/2 my LP when activating RFDD and brought Orc, Newdoria, and GKing to stand beside Necrofear. The Gorillas were screwed.
thats just an example. TIV is one of those cards, though, that I believe have a good chance of being benched in the coming months. I will miss it.
BTW. as a note to any who care. Gizmoduck has taken up writing some pretty good anaysises (sp?) for Neohunter's Warrior Tactics thread. Smile, G- you just got Archived.
Hey, I was thinking about doing a fiend deck just for kicks, and since I'm really into type-based synergy (and I didn't feel like reading the other 108 pages to see if this was discussed already >.>) I've been thinking about the implications of Lava Golem in a unique sort of fiend deck. Well, let's look at some other fiend-type monsters that can benefit from having a 3000 attacker on othe field:
Helpoemer: Marik, my fav character from the show (which I hardly ever watch lol), did NOT put Helpoemer and Lava Golem in the same deck arbitrarily. You could either tribute-set him or summon him and just throw him headlong into Lava Golem. You lose 1000LP from the suicide, but Lava Golem will be hurting your opponent that much more.
Kiseitai: Golem attacks this, and you get +1500LP every turn. If you use Necrofear in the same deck though, this isn't so good an option i guess, heh. And, of course, be sure to insure yourself afterwards.
Newdoria: Meh. Maybe use Dark Spirit of the SIlent or something to get Golem to attack this set card and then kill another monster that could be on your opponent's field. Lame trick I know, lol.
Dark Necrofear: Well, yeah, she's already good for all sorts of things...but I learned a little trick from Relinquished during my ritual days - summon Necrofear, throw headlong into Lava Golem, lose 800LP, and get yourself a 3000 attacker. You get burned a bit, not so bad as long as you're not stalling. And well...you just got a 3000 attack monster. XD
The premise behind my deck is going to consist mostly with Lava Golem, Necrofear, and Gren Maju da Eiza to get Inferno Tempest to do its thing. Lava Golem for 3000 damage, Necrofear for general support and removal, and Gren Maju to beat the tar out of things after the Tempest launches. Ideas? Suggestions? Maybe link me to where you already talked about this? :p
Disclaimer - This upcoming little project is going to be my first serious fiend deck (I did an Archfiend deck and a Bakura deck a long time ago, but they never went anywhere really), so if I say anything particularly ignorant, I apologize ahead of time. Also, it may be a bit before I can get around to testing the deck...I'm still testing two Agent decks, a "bad karma" (life gain/burn/aggro) deck and soon to start tests on a Serpentine Princess burner. So...be patient. =P
*sets up incense before the alter and chants, "make TwelfthFuacet come to ussssss"*
Any help you need 12- just ask. Gren/Golem decks are sick fun. here is one that went back and forth between a few of us: Summoning Golem of course. But on your opponent's turn activate Scapegoat. even if they attack, you have 3 more. Now, switch one goat to attack and ram it into Golem for the activation requirement of Inferno Tempest. Play Metamorphasis on the other and you can suck up Golem with TER. Now you have a 3000 attacker and your opponent's are out of monsters.
Having Gren in hand, or a RfDD available will make short work of that duel.
Mefist is my new hero (does that really work since he's kinda evil  ).
Giant Germ face down on my side of the field, activate creature swap sac. their monster for Mefist atack my Germ for 1700+500+1 card, then hit em with two more Germs :). Total damage, 1700+500+2000= 4200 + 1 card from their hand :).
Lava Golem runs quite well, if I do run him i sometimes use a Jowgen (i think hes the one) so if you get a rampaging Golem after you it can be easily .... "removed".
Yeah, but I don't like leaving 200ATK monsters on the field like that.
If you put Jowgen on the field, your best bet is to put some protection behind him, like Waboku, Bottomless Trap Hole, Trap Hole, Solemn Judgment, etc.
Everyone here knows that Mefist is one of my absolute favorite fiends. Once I put Mefist on the field, the game is almost over. He's to me what Grarl is for Rafael, Blue Eyes is for Kaiba, DM is for Yugi.
I put him on the field and attack and destroy my opponent's monster, and discard a card from their hand. Next turn, they summon a monster and attack Mefist, and in the damage step, Rush Recklessly. Monster is destroyed and one card from their hand. And they have an open Field, so next turn I smash them and discard one MORe card from their hand.
I love Mefist and I think he's got one of the best effects of any Rare monster in the game.
Here's a question for everybody:
Who here, HONESTLY, runs "Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler"?
I've just put one in my deck and so far is hasn't failed me.
"I summon Dark Jeroid to reduce your Jinzo's ATK to 1600. Activate Puppet Magic and remove Jeroid to Special summon Terrorking Archfiend".
"Snatch Steal/Change of Heart on your BLS-Envoy. Remove your monster from play. Now I'll remove your BLS-Envoy from play to Special summon my Dark Necrofear back to the field."
"Change of Heart on your scientist. I'll pay 1000 to Special summon Giltia D. Knight and use Metamorphosis on him to Special Summon Dark Balter the Terrible. And I'll use Puppet Magci of Dark Ruler on your Scientist to summon Goblin King from my graveyard."
I'm liking this card a lot.
I just wanna know if any of your are running it at all or did the "remove" part of the effect scare you off like it did to me?

Waldo, it looks like we are the only one's promoting this card! It has sooo many uses in a fiend deck. I have tried to push it's usage, and I know you have too. Maybe if we keep talking about it, it'll catch on eventually. Heheh.
Just looking at some fiends, you can get rid of some fiends that you use for their effect (Kuriboh ( Level 1), Night Assailant (3), Dark Jeroid (4), Byser Shock (5), and get others that you use for their attacking capabilities (Goblin King (1), Chaos Necromancer (1), Gren Maju (3), Slate Warrior (4), Terrorking (4), Mefist, Balter (5).
And of course, using your opponent's monsters to get back your own is just plain evil. An Archfiend Deck that uses Falling Down could really abuse Puppet Master.

The more i see your responses...the more i want to go back to playing a fiend deck. Maybe ill break out my tiny fiends deck..the one with area B in it and come by NG one weekend. just to duel you.
one more thing:
you SHUFFLED a guy's FUSION deck during the regionals! WHO DOES THAT!?!?
I'll be honest, removing from play at the time of LOD seemed like a really bad idea. As a result, I haven't gone back to the card to take an additional look to it. But removing you're opponent's monster instead? Sounds just like Book of Life, only a little bit more expensive. This could be good...

He had a FIFTY-NINE CARD FUSION DECK!!!
Come on!!!
Besides, I had to establish my evilness early in the top 8 tournament, make sure they all know that a Fiend was judging over them.
LoL!!!
I'm thinking of adding more Falling Downs to my deck, since it has a lot of Archfiends.
And I'm also thinking of putting a second Creature Swap as well, now that I have Puppet Magic, my opponent's monsters can help me get fusions OR monster from my graveyard.

I was using Puppet Magic with one of my goblin King Decks. like Great Dragon had said, it was sitting around for a while, never used. But these days, with the ability of RFP to make contributions to the deck design, I found it was amazing. And, yes, Creature Swap was sick in combination. That trick you mentioned, Waldo, with MS and stuff? I would do that regularly and with loads of enjoyment.:D
