What do you mean? Isn't taking the Hulk, turning him red and allowing him to burn people (because he's red) an original concept?

The concept maybe "original" (not neccessarily from Jeph's brain) but the character that Rulk will eventually finally revealed to be will not be a new character.

You know there was a character who had been bested by the Hulk in ALL Of his Incarnations...it was just some schmuck who did #### like rob banks and stuff. He eventually got around to trying to assasinate Rick....well guess who was house watching when he shot a rocket at his bed.
