i aint got wind weaver yet. though i have a pending auraheal.I have principles of technomancy, tome of weirding,& tome of brass. sadly, still no book of blood.i have arc lightning & psychic reflection.
i'll try out vapor gecko's style with bloodhawk.
Heck, put in 5 Harkas and an Order of the Crescent Sword, or three Marauders and Ribaya's Ghost. Anyway, for hte extra points, Book of Blood is a considerably good choice over Tome of Brass, that Extra Toughness is a life saver against the new bread of harrasers, and I found it particularly helpful to have Toughness after horrible Mage Stone Trances. Protection from Gremlin Venom and attacks or ram is VERY important when Hawk is biting the dust and rushing to set up a regen or Auraheal. Plus that +2 defense is quite fun, and you can toss on Magestone Bracers and max his defense out at 21, though a Potion of Vitality would be almost a neccesity for the Hawkster.
Against magic I find that I don't even bother with it. Orc counter spelling is almost never a safe bet, and all those spell slots I like to fill to the brim with pure offense or stupid amounts of mass healing.
As for Wind Weaver, the prospect of dragging Chroma back to the ground to be swarmed by Harkas is enticing. Of course you would need Bloodhawk to cast Auraheal after the impending sweep and slaughter, but after that you might have a shot to hit. Hex would help to.
I haven't yet built my Faction Wars component, but I am almost posotive it will have Blood Hawk and a Masked Shaman/Krang in it, and enough fodder to make whatever AC I play free/cheap.
Scorch
carrying the Tome of Brass
spells: Call Familiar, Psychic Reflection, Centaur's Gait, Archer's Aim
riding the Orc Khans Battle Horse
Marauder Gishki (dial d) (Familiar)
Krang
carrying the Principles of Technomancy
Spells: Hunter's Luck, Raven's Tongue
Scavenge
wielding the Decapitator
Scorch and Gishki were the true MVPs of this team.
Giski took out a Horned Hunter, Khan Rava, and Bowman Nock, while Scorch slayed Kieren Starsdawn, Gabriel Starsdawn and a Varatrix. With Centaur's gait cast on himself, Scorch and his mount could inflict a total of 10 damage to single figure (4 impale damage and a click of ram with each charge). Psychic Reflection keeps the half orc relatively protected (Gabriel ended doing 5 clicks to himself) while Gishki serves as a pretty effective bodyguard.
I wasn't really able to use Scavenge effectively as he either decapitated himself early in the battle or opposing warriors took him out before I was able to get much use of out him.
Against a steady stream of unused wand type warriors, Krang had a hard time casting anything, though he made an excellent supporting piece when no one was around to counterspell him..
All in all, it was pretty fun playing the orcs even though I didn't really use them in that traditional rush in and attack method. (It's only my second time using them afterall :p )
