At this particular venue, it isn't uncommon to see nearly every other person using Metron. Every time I've been there, approximately 50% of the crowd used Metron. 85% of them used Metron, Nightcrawler, WL Sinestro, or GSX Phoenix. In the last 3 months, they've had 1 tournament that wasn't a 300 points Golden Age (they don't even know what Golden Age is, they call it standard) build. I've offered to help the owner organize their tournaments to get some kind of structure, but never got a response. I think he believes I'm trying to compete against his venue, but I just want the game to do well regardless of who's venue is hosting it.
That sounds like a boring venue filled with some boring players. Here's hoping you can turn it around, though people do love their crutches.
Longest-Reigning Drunken HeroClix Champion - anyone got a liver?
Hey everybody, just popping my head in for a quick minute to get some advice. I am going shopping to buy my son a netbook. We want him to have a separate one for school (as mentioned before, he goes to online public school) and this seems like it would be perfect.
However, I have never shopped for one before. It seems there are a few of them in the $199-$229 range at Walmart and BestBuy. Are these fine? Since we are looking to utilize it for nothing more than his schooling, and maybe a little more, we don't really need anything too fancy.
Are there any specific features/requirements I should be looking for when shopping?
Thanks a bunch!
¢ When I was young, my ambition was to be one of the people who made a difference in this world. My hope still is to leave the world a little better for having been there - Jim Henson
Ouch! At least he took it in stride. It's to be hoped that people competing at that level would be the ones most likely to recognize the importance of minutiae.
He's only been playing for a year and a half, and this was his first time playing at this level. Still, he knows that he should have known better.
I think he was really happy to do as well as he did-- he went 2-2 on Saturday. I think he had one of the best teams I have seen. If he had not qualified, i was prepared to play a variation of it either Saturday, or Sunday if I made it.
