How many people were just pushed to the point of flat out walking away from playing you when they saw 5 pc'ers on the board?
I don't mean this as insult or otherwise. But I know that having thtat much means to muck with the dice could drive a lotta people to the point of perhaps not wanting to endure the agony of every feasible solid dice roll they had being hosed by that much prob.
Now that I see that squad.. I'm tempted myself to try it... or not. it wouldn't be that same squad as I keep only a single full set of figures so I'd have to find some sorta substitute for the other wanda and blood... BUT... regardless, that's pure craziness. I salute you for taking that squad into the field, and kicking a world of arse with it.
"A" is "A". And no matter what universe he's from, Luthor... is Luthor.
Folks, those of you arguing about whether the U.S. should hold the "World" Championships are all arguing against one guy, who made about two or three posts regarding the matter. There's no great debate here.
I think it is sad that people have turned Massu's thread thanking everyone for their nice words and being used to answer any questions that people who couldn't make it (much like myself) might have. I have been to Wondercon in S.F. (thanks to Bonkers1978 a.k.a. Nat) and WWLA and done well in both tourneys, but I don't know anything about Gen Con and the truly big tourneys. I know L.A. is a long way from Canada (Rob can tell you that). Basically, leave the thread to what it was meant to be. All that being said, I would like to say Congrats to you George and good luck in your future gaming. It is true that just going to a different venue can vastly change your perspective on gaming. The team I took to Wondercon this year had no TK, PC, or Outwit. It made top 6. It was surprisingly effective. in the end, it was dice rolls that beat me, so maybe I wouldn't have had a chance at beating George, but it is fun to play. (If you are interested at all in my team, just ask me....it had Pip the Troll).
(I've never actually seen a crocodile. I've never been that far north; you pretty much need to be in the tropics to find them.)
We actually have a couple of crocs here in the Ballarat Wildlife Park, and Ballarat is pretty much the coldest city on the mainland. Mind you, they are kept in a nice warm enclosure.
Man it'sfun watching the keeper feed 'em. They just about get him every time.
Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
This team brings up the question - should there be a limit to PC?
Rule of three per turn?
It seems a little unfair to be able to make someone re-roll 5 times in one turn (even three would be alot!). The probability of someone being able to roll high every time is not good.
Nothing against George, I congratulate him on his win and on his team building, but this seems cheesy.

I would like to add that I have met people from around the world at gencon playing clix. Sure there is a lot of people from the US but there was also Canada, New Zealand, and I believe the UK as well. That is just the people that I met. If WK had enough money to actually do events around the world like a certain card game, then that is another story.
I know we are on the internet and words have more power than anything. but you really have to take some things with a grain of salt.
I doubt that most football teams are the "world champions" after winning the superbowl... Just sayin'

The only thing worse than poor sportsmanship by people at Gencon is poor sportsmanship from those who didnt go and are now crying about it.
WK can hold there events wherever they choose to. You dont like it? Too bad.
It's THEIR championship event. THEY called it the Worlds championship. So deal with it.
But tell me how do you would fell if NECA decided to run WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP (as they can put it any name they want, wrong as can be) here in south america and the WORLD CHAMPION turned to be a modest native from some lost in time village...
"Hey! that can be the world champion 'cause there was no fragging american fellow there to kick his indian buttocks"
well, same thing backwards...

"Coming back from the death becomes easer every time you do it"
I have to agree here...i mean, can you imagine each turn?
"Looks like I hit"
"PC"
"Okay, oh, hit again.."
"PC"
"Fine, looks like I hit again"
"PC"
"Crit Miss"
Considering how I roll...that would put me in a sour mood!
If I was using that team:
"Looks like I miss"
"PC"
"Okay, oh, miss again.."
"PC"
"Fine, looks like I miss again"
"PC"
"This time for sure, miss again"
"PC"
"I only need a five to hit, miss again"
"PC"
"Crit Hit"
"Opponent's PC"
"Crit Miss"
That how I roll

Record vs VGA d1sc1pL3: W-3 L-0
I cant speak for Allan, but based off of his object placement and the map I chose i had a feeling he was going to try that. Allan placed a heave object like 7 squares from my starting area, metron gets 10 movement carrying Thing. Now this is aggressive placement of objects, most players including myself are more conservative with the placement. This is the only game i did not move shazam from his starting area. Or else my normal thing to do is pick up tombstone, sit on accellerator and move jason blood with witch in front of me on the phone booth. I only moved one witch and one blood this opening move.
He did exactly what i thought was going to happen he moved metron up carrying Thing, and tried to outwit me.
Now to set the record straight Allan moved metron and Thing into space to outwit me and did not drop an action token. I said complete your first action before you begin another, place your action token then use outwit. I'm a competitor and he gave me an opportunity I would be stupid to refuse. I called first turn immunity, and would not let him take both those actions back. Im a competitor, and I garuntee Allan will never make that mistake again. Next time I play him its going to be a lot harder.
So to answer your question "do you think you still would have won?" I cant say for certain, but im very confident to say that yes i would still win.

This just comes off as a jerk move to me and shows a lack of sportmanship IMO. I will say I didn't know you couldn't do this either......But still having never played in the big tourney maybe I'm just looking at from how I would of played and not how some else would do something.
