Actually, with the Gauntlet that leaves 150 left, which gives you tons of options. Tons.

The Stranger is the META NOW. Being able to name a power, collosial size, and a deep dial when paired with the gauntlet your have a really strong combo. You have points for support or another small attacker. Best part is that you don't need the full gauntlet.

Not sure how I feel about Stranger yet. I mean he is awesome, but not sure he is going to have the impact Metron/whomever did.

But I could see something like Stranger/Gauntlet/Johnny Quick or something working. Leaves 22 points. Not sure what the filler would be. Maybe someone besides JQ. Smokey Cap - oh darn. That's not a bad 300 point golden age team though, but at that point there's way better options.

You can get him off the first click onto the "any power" click just not turning the dial first turn. But he also doesn't have Prob, Outwit, Perplex at the same time, immediately to start the game. But he offers more damage reducers and a longer dial.

Not sure he is immediately the meta, I don't see that just yet.

I for one can't wait to try Stranger with a full gauntlet, Bruce Wayne and Dr Strange (with MK ATA) for 398. I know, not 300, but most venues have moved to 400 pt tournaments around here anyways ...

He's pretty meta all right. I don't like the simplicity of the strategy with him, but he's got brutal combos available, and the dreaded scientist keyword.

Turn 3) turn colossal; jump/barrier/spin.
Turn 4) choose Regen; Regen/barrier/spin

If I roll a 3-6 on Regen I end back on click #2. If reality is showing I've got two shots at it. If not, clear turn 5, otherwise repeat turn 4 until godhood. Ugly.

Unless your in an indoor map barrier is only going to protect the AIM guys. It's going to be tricky to protect him and just run around spinning the gauntlet seeing he is a giant or colossal. I'm not so sure he will be as good as people think, I think people are just looking at it as the not as good replacement for Metron, but that doesn't mean that he will work well. Metron was so good because he was cheap and had those powers on every click. Stranger costs more which means less support figures, will be able to be seen from almost anywhere because he is a giant or colossal, and only has his special power on 4 of his 9 clicks (and a not so impressive 17 defense on most of those clicks and 9 attack on 2 of the 4). Seems like it will be a lot of work to protect him, spin the gauntlet, and get him on those good clicks. He will probably be dead before then.

Nope, even on outdoor maps the barrier works, since neither figure on the same level as a piece of blocking terrain can draw line of fire past it. Stranger spin teams will be quite difficult to deal with.

Uh, am I missing something here? So long as the barrier is on the same elevation as character on the lower elevation, the barrier will do its job and block LOF (P.14 2011 rulebook). From what I'm seeing, the beekeeper's cocoon method will work for Stranger just as it works for any other Gauntleted tentpole.

What about #032 U r Adam Warlock? Uncommon keyword, flying, teleport, special outwit and Cosmic power. It could really break your Stranger imo

Adam's fragile. However, he might be a good candidate for Bruce/Strange.

You've got perplex, 2 outwits (including AW's uber-outwit), and Adam Warlock can be sporting an 18D, ES/D + Toughness + Super Senses. Not bad. It doesn't pack as much punch as I'd like, and lacks move & attack, but it should be difficult to put down too.
