all of them are supposedly part of a program called weapon plus, whose purpose is to create super soldiers (super sentinels) whose prime directive is to elminate threats to the human race, in the story arc wolverine finds out that this weapon plus program was trying to create a group of "super heroes" who were goin to eradicate the mutants from the face of the planet.

Well, that is still a little vague, but, I do appreciate the effort. So, was Cap. America suppose to be a sentinel (Mutant killer?) and are we talking about the Prime sentinels like bastion made? Or is it just the pinnacle of human Evolution you mean by sentinels? Also, what does that mean about Wolverine, are you saying he was supposed to be a mutant killer or a Prime sentinel if that is what you're talking about? So did it ever disclose who the other weapons were like 2-9? Where did this story come out of...what I mean is what is the motivation behind it, what was the means to an ends kind of deal?

forget the conception of sentinels as mutant killing machines and look at them in terms of super soldiers designed to protect the human race, weapon plus saw the mutants as a threat to the human race and designed this new super soldiers whose sole objective was the eradication of mutants, the only one that appears in the arc besides Logan being weapon 10, famtomex and captain america (who appears in the computer screen only) is weapon 15 a mere killing machine.

Anybody here seen the latest issue of NEW XMEN? Finally an artist worthy of the X-titles, MARC SILVESTRI!!! I really, really hope things start looking up with this new story arc now that an excellent artist is in place.

I did check it out-Hopefully morrison won't pull one of his "gothcha while you were looking the other way" bullcarp he pulled on all of his "big" storyarcs on JLA-

Weapon Zero is Captain America. Meaning he was the first shot at creating a super soldier and it was successful. Also, I think, they did know that Logan was a mutant. It was because of his healing factor that they were able to graft the adamantium to his bones. They chose him as Weapon X because of his mutant healing powers.

That still doesn't explain the plot hole of using a mutant as a super-soldier sentintel to cleanse the Earth of all Mutants.

Agent X turne out to be a physical duplicate of Deadpool. With a vast infusion of energy, Wade's hand regenerated into a complete body. A psychic transference from a villain trying to escape death in an explosion with Deadpool imprinted parts of the villain and Wade onto the mind of the new body.

The new character took the name of Alex Haydyn. He fought all new villains except for Taskmaster who also became a supporting character. The book was still good, although our lead wasn't quite as insane as Wade. Plus there's just something about the faceless mask.

Deadpool has returned fully healed and restored now, and Alex wanders the Marvel Universe util a writer decides to use him. The only reason for the change was to give the finger to Rob Liefeld, but apparently things have been worked out.

I just picked up 151, and #### if those bastards didn't find a way to hook me back in. A Sentinel weilding human? Sign me up!

As stated previously by someone, Weapon X is not a project whose sole purpose from the beginning is just to kill mutants. I don't think CAP ever even showed a tendency to do so. The project was for making super soldiers for humanity's defense. Now probably, during the time Weapon 15 was being developed, mutantkind was the perceived threat to humanity and that is why its directive was directed at killing mutants. But from the start, the Weapon Plus program was never only about killing mutants that's why its ok to use mutants. There is no plot hole. Ok?

Maverick and Deadpool were subjects of The Weapon X Program.

Wade's abilities were from experimentation in reproducing Logan's regeneration in other agents.
