I used to love Transformers as a kid and I've never seen any of the recent movies. Now, GI Joe is a different story...
If you wanna keep liking Transformers, don't.
I actually thought GI Joe: Rise of Cobra was a fun movie. Joseph Gordon Levitt was disappointing as Cobra Commander (I'm a huge GI Joe fan, and Cobra Commander is my all time favorite character), but aside from that, it was a good popcorn flick, as long as you didn't go in expecting it to be Citizen Kane.

Who knows what New Hope, Empire and Jedi will look like by the time they hit the big screens again? At least with Episodes 1-3 it isn't as if he can really do much damage to them.
I still think the biggest insult in Star Wars-dom was when Episodes 4-6 were released on DVD, and at the end of Return of the Jedi, when Luke looks into the flames, he sees Obi Wan, Yoda and Hayden Christensen. To forever associate the epic-ness that is Darth Vader with that loser is just sad. I didn't think Lucas could ruin Star Wars any more than he already did, yet there it is.
If anyone here wants to watch an amazing review of episodes 1-3, go to Youtube and type in Red Letter Media, followed by the name of the episode review you wanna see. They're about 90 minutes each, and honestly, without even talking about the horrible mistake that is Jar Jar Binks, he explains everything that is truly wrong with the prequels. And on top of that, he's hilarious when he does it (he's got kind of a strange voice, and a good sense of humor). Be warned that the reviews are crude, but it adds to the experience.
Also, one last thing-I noticed that I have a #### ton of rep suddenly, and apparently ChiRocker slapped me 3 times in the span of like...5 minutes. How's that possible?
The Ever Growing Trickster and Pied Piper KO List!
U Ganthet, Labcoat Beast, Cap and Bucky
Not removing this until we get Clock King and The Rose-01/23/11
Come on, NECA-Marvel Horror Theme Set 2011!

I loved all the movies and have no shame in it. Though I am more in to the novels of the Star Wars universe though. Darth Bane, Legacy of the Force, Fate of the Jedi. All beautiful.

In Ulthar, no man may kill a cat. In Utah, no man may marry a cat. These rules were made because of the ramifications of them happening before.

You have to rep 5 people before you can rep the same person again. They lowered the numbers a couple of months ago.
Has anyone played the new Thor video game? I thought about getting it as a treat to myself for the semester being done tomorrow. I'm always cautious about getting movie-based games, but I am looking for a good super hero game.
I came home early today, in part because this headache wouldn't let up. Also, I knew UPS would be coming by with a package. I'd ordered a 2000 pc jigsaw puzzle for my mother-in-law for Mother's Day. I figured I'd get the buying out of the way earlier for Father's Day, too, by picking up Baseball In the Garden of Eden, a book I'd heard the author interviewed on a couple months back. It traces the game back to the colonial period, including the two main variants, one of which won out and gradually became the game we know.
The lead-time will allow me to read the book (after putting the dust jacket out of the way) before making a gift of it next month when Father's Day rolls around.
The box arrived a few minutes ago, so I'm freer to relax. In the meantime I'd done the dishes, some general cleaning up and did most of the prep for dinner. There's only about another 15 minutes of work remaining to get it set, including clearing the dining room table while letting a chicken component that's been marinating reduce on a low heat.
Excellent, sunny weather today, low-60s and a light breeze. I've had the windows open since getting home. Now that I've sat down for more than a few minutes the urge to go take a nap is getting strong.
They have the old G.I. Joe and Transformers on at midnight on the hub. I love it. The staying up is a little rough. I'm getting to old I guess but I can't resist.

Wow...I could not agree more.
The thing I wondered about after seeing that switch of images to include Christensen was this: why leave out Liam Neeson, then?
Also, I'd say a close second in ranking the "biggest insult" could be those dumb commentators during the pod racing scene in "Phantom Menace." Holy crow, what was Lucas thinking???
Tim Burton was right: "A square jaw does not a Batman make." Steve Buscemi as the next Batman! Luke Perry as Joker! Let's make it happen!

I suspect that he'll be doing more of this sort of thing as he tries to craft all six of the films for his view of consistency.
If it helps at all (though I know it won't) keep in mind that it's said that because David Prowse leaked script details during Empire (there were key differences in each of the scripts the actors received, specifically to help identify the source of any leaks) as punishment he wasn't allowed to be behind the makeup when Vader was unmasked as he was dying.
Shifting a bit, especially with all of this being digitized now and the mapping software having become so sophisticated, I do wonder how many variants are floating around at the level of the digital effect techs. Actors and/or creatures being swapped in scenes, that sort of thing. Nothing that would be allowed to be shown to the public, but just for insider amusement.

This is exactly the sort of tweak I'm expecting when he re-releases these in 3D.
Have you seen the early morning photo of her with no makeup that her husband put on Twitter. Based on that she should not be on the list. One of the modern wonders of engineering.

This.
She does look good when she has make-up artists that do her up, but otherwise, whoa nelly.
So I am considering ordering some of these to make a light up GL mod from my future FCBD Green Lantern. They are a reasonable price, but shipping is really jacked up. I am thinking of ordering extras and possibly trying to make extra mods for commission work (also going to try to find some dark green glow in the dark paint for the repaint). Would anyone be willing to help out to have a cool light up GL?
