I played Elder Scrolls 3 and I couldn't really get into it that much. There was far to much wandering from town to town with not much to do in between. And of course my computer at the time caused the game to lag a bit as well.

I LOVE the non-linear aspect. You can be heroic and noble, or devote yourself to a life of crime mugging people and breaking into homes . . . just don't get caught!
Early in the game, I was spotted breaking and entering and worked up enough of a bounty that no one would speak to me, since I was a "notorious outlaw." I had to sneak into a city, find a shop to unload my stolen goods, then sneak to the Thieves Guild and get them to use thier shady contacts to remove the bounty and clear my name.

Great fun!
Yeah, breaking the law was fun. Most of the time I'd go to far with it and wouldn't be able to complete the quest though cause of my outlaw status. I also didn't like the fact that it was imposssible to hit something. I'd swing my sword or Axe or what have you like 10 times and maybe hit my foe twice if that. It seemed impossible to hit someone.

If you join the Thieves Guild, you can get your bounty removed by paying half its price.

That's because your weapons skills were too low. Gotta improve them either by fighting or paying for training.
So, yeah, I posted somewhere that I'm replaying FFVII.
I've only played like 5 minutes when I bought it back in '97. So, for 9 years, it's been gathering dust. I'm still on the first disc, just won my first Chocobo Race. Gonna look for Sephiroth...
(Speaking of, I just did not buy Sephy going postal. It's kinda like Luke becoming Darth Vader in Ep III. Just wasn't convincing, y'know?)
Anyhoo, it's pretty enjoyable so far. The plot's not doing anything for me, but I like the gameplay. The music is boiling my ears (especially the Gold Saucer theme). Lord, thank you for the mute button.
Unfortunately, there's no plans for Atlus or Sega to return to SF's roots.
Shining Force Neo is the latest bastardization of the franchise. Moogs says it's an Action RPG, kinda like Shining Tears (ugh) minus the dual player aspect.

*sniff* It's all Shining Soul's fault.
Its to bad, Shining Force was the best tactics game IMO. I don't think I've liked any other tactics game as much as that one.
a buch of characters on the field.
the promotion system was the best, espicially 2s "advanced promotions"
good clean combat, players and enemies didn't miss much.
Just so good. They don't make as good of an action/rpg as they did tactical.
Oh well, Disgaea 2 will be out soon. Thats got me all a tingle waiting for it.
Life goes on, long after the thrill of living is gone.
Aye, I just clicked on the thread, and saw Final Fantasy VII, and the Elder Scrolls mentioned. Anywho, would anyone be so kind to tell me a good place to gain exp in Final Fantasy VII? Also, In Morrowind, has anyone stolen the god hammer from Mournhold?
