becuase I dont have any firends there I said, happy now?
seriously though I would we could still find a place to get together... I love playing this game but I dont expcet someone to run the game for free, maybe those Dark Tower guys have the right idea, we know they aint getting any WK prize support. thye just show up and play (at least I think they are still playing over there)
I will admit it is always nice to get an LE though.... and so help them if they make an LE Archangle that is sweet...
the regular one is 95 points has the Fly-by ability (charge plus you can keep moving if you have any left). I hope he has BCF (or decent damge 3+ ) on the same click but he porbably wont....
ouch, sorry about you dog.how old was he?.. 4-5 years ago we had to put our dog down because she got to old and was suffering (had lots of problems...) my mom had her for 18 years ....
I don't want to play a game of chess where dumb luck or money decides whether or not I get to use a rook... Collectibility is a necessary evil of Heroclix, not a boon.
Oh, BTW, on a side note, today generally sucks. Our dog died last night, so we started the day at the pet crematorium and then a kid backed his truck into my wife's new car at the DMV - of course, no damage to his vehicle.
I'm very sorry to hear how awful your day has become. I was going to make a joke referring to your previous post asking what time we should all come over and who should bring the soda...but I see you're not in the mood for company. I hope your weekend improves.

Penny was about 17 years old which is typical for a medium size dog - she had a good life. The last two weeks, you could really see that she was going down hill. Bummer that she couldn't make it to Thanksgiving. Since we knew it was coming, we wanted our kids to have a chance to say goodbye.

I've been wanting to set up something at my house for casual play the past two years, but it has not materialized. I'll keep trying to set something up though for some Saturday (so you'll have no excuse!).
Sorry to hear about your dog Jim, and your wife's car.
Like I've said before somewhere if you play the game just to get LE's then maybe you should reprioritize why you play the game in the first place. I care not for LE's, sure it's a collectable game, but I try to reign in my "Gotta catch 'em all" emotions, usually quite well too. If the venues have to cough up eight solid true existing players to get the LE's or "good" LE's this will prevent venues getting free ####e from WK, just because they are an approved venue, to turn around and automatically put the LE's up on ebay. When I see ebay stores listing LE's it just sickens me because I know they are either, running events and giving away carpy prizes or not running events at all and auto listing the LE's for pure profit at WK's expense. I do have to admit it's a slap to the judges' face if they have to run 8 man events in order to be eligible for compensation. I'm the Demo Coordinator for Dark Age Games, we pay out $7.50 per hour in product to our demo guys for their effort, regardless the amount of players they demo to.
As for shrinking down the venues, in theory it's a good idea, to be honest the 12pm on sat at Kools was the best time and place for me, so it's looking like I may stop playing after all because of lack of a convinent venue to participate at. This reflects nothing against all the other judges btw, just time and location.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.

This was my point about the venues and shrinking the pool. All players have time constraints. Kools catered to a particular group. By going out of business, that group will not migrate to another venue to continue playing. If two other venues discontinue running games, those players frequenting the closed venues would likewise not migrate. So, in the end, there could be only one venue, but still with only fewer than the requisite 8 for LE support. Ergo, all venues should continue to run games as this won't affect any venue/judge from receiving LE support and this will allow the maximum number of players to pick a convenient venue.
Gotta run now. Friday night fights at Sci Fi Center start in an hour.
If Jim were to do 12pm events I would go there instead of Kools
Under consideration. As long as Kools was running at noon on Saturday, it made no sense to go head-to-head against that venue. Since Kools is closing, and not reopening by latest intel, I may fill that void since it appears to be a popular time slot for many players.
Charles (squirecam) was the only player showing this evening at the Sci-Fi Center, so he and I sat down for a couple of games. He ran an all giant team (excluding the late addition of the Jarvis pog), which included Rita Farr, Giganta (trend from the DD squad?), Colossal Boy and Atom Smasher. I threw together some loose pieces in my box - Stardust, Batman (JL), FF Vet Hawkeye, good ol' Rookie Domino and Rookie Jean. Stardust Kicks major arse. Charles walked home with the LE Roland Desmond and I ended my dismal day on a pleasant note.
BTW, Charles, I checked the list of Theme Teams and "GIANT" is not among them.
Too, too funny! Thanks for starting my day off with a hearty laugh. The K and L keys are adjacent and I goofed up - fixed my post. Anyway, Stardust rocks.

HEY NOW!!!
Don't be steppin on my toes Homeboy! I already stated that I would take over the Saturday timeslot the DAY Rolland put it up on the Realms! So I guess it's only fair to put it up to a player vote (when Kools closes) to which event the players would like to go to.
Keep in mind that the Old Man has "Chores" to do on Saturdays and I don't!

This is NOT a contest. I never heard anything about you wanting to take over the Saturday noon slot and just thought it would be nice if someone filled that void - I was just offering my services for the good of the group. You can have it if the players from Kools want to go to LSOM - makes no difference to me since I do have other things to do on the weekend. If the players need a place more centrally located, then the Sci-Fi Center is the more logical venue location for that time slot to cater to the largest segment of the Clix population. If it turns out that the group would prefer that scene, I am willing to be present and would certainly welcome joint judge participation to allow more flexibility in my schedule.
It would be nice to hear comments from the group so the best solution for this gaming community can be determined.
