I'll admit my poll isn't perfect. So maybe there is some "percentage of error" in my poll. But that doesn't explain the near unnanimous answers on the second question. It could explain the answers on the first question since there were plenty of answers both ways. And no way do I buy into the "people are afraid to admit the like powercreep" theory you presented.
Dude. So you asked twenty people who all answered the second question the same way. So what? Now, let's flip the tables
YOU prove to US what that means. Ok. How do you know that if you polled 100 people, only 20 of them would've chosen the second answer? That maybe you only polled the minority?
You don't. You can say "oh probability" all you want, but you don't know. And you won't, until you do the work, which you refuse to do. You may claim to know more than wizkids, but you can't sit and say you know more than the scientific community.
Well, I guess you could, but jesus that'd be ridiculous

Now it was a good point that Zero_Cochrane brought up about a disporportionally higher number of completists on HCRealms that in the general community. And completists would totally answer that Powercreep has no affect on their purchases....because it doesn't. So that may have made my numbers a little higher. But there were plenty of self admitted non-completists who participated, and they were near unnanimous too.
Zero and Captain....you two both answered that it didn't affect you either. Are you both completists? Search your souls....did I bias your answers? Look Darius Dax, who goes out of his way to disagree with everything I say....he too answered "Powercreep doesn't affect his purchases"...I assure you he's immune to my bias....if anything he's counterbiased by everything I say....and he was able to overcome that and give the same answer as everyone else.
You might have. I don't know. I'd like to think I answered 100% honestly, but I may very well have been influenced to answer the way I did because I knew it wasn't the answer you were looking for.
Also, I'm not going to lie to you. I find it REALLY hilarious that like 25 people took this poll, and you're going nuts about the results like they show the second coming of god lol

The numbers are just WAY TOO UNIFORM (For the second question) to suggest that my poll was inaccurate. (At least for that question).....and the first question's answer being 50-50 clearly shows that "my bias" does not have unnanimous effect.
No. They aren't. As was said before, there are way too many possibilities to describe why you would get results like that.
Dude, as we said NUMEROUS times, this isn't just us saying this: It's years and years and decades upon decades of scientific research. You don't have to believe Captain Castle, but to sit and disbelieve what science has proven about the human psyche and good polling, you're just looking really really foolish.

Because if you ask the right group of people in america, you'll probably get some people who admit liking to touch children, or murder people, or like Rosie O Donnell.
The analogy obviously isn't 100% accurate, but surely you get my point.
Also, I didn't sit for twenty hours and craft a brilliant bias for the poll. I just threw one out there because no matter how well I crafted it, you'd just ignore it, or dismiss it out of hand.
I don't need to prove your poll is the laughingstock of science. It's already been done about a dozen times ITT. I'm just trying to give you a shot at gathering some actual evidence, rather than going about your life thinking that asking 20 people will give you results applicable to the world as a whole.
People don't answer questions honestly, not because they lie, but because in general most people aren't good at self examination. It isn't taught it wasn't a useful skill in the savanna, or in the tribe, social Psychology repeatedly demonstrates people across the world are bad at it, in short while we are capable of it, we don't do it.
So you're saying "people aren't good at self examination". That's it?? So if this is the case there will NEVER be ANY poll that is accurate which asks PEOPLE THEIR OWN OPINION?
Because according to you "People can't be trusted to give their own opinion"???

That's why you follow the rules of polling set forth my years of practice and experimentation to eliminate that factor as much as possible.

Are you implying the only people who are racist are the ones who say "I'm Racist".
Heres a profoundly obvious sample Poll to prove the point and then I'm really done, because this is just stupid.
A)
1) Do you agree with letting low income children, parent and seniors die because of a lack of decent Health Care?
2) Do you think Your Government has a responsibility to prevent this Catastrophe?
3) Would you support a program that aids these people in poverty in finding and affording medical care
4) Do you agree that your Government has a responsibility to provide Healthcare for everyone.
B)
1) Do you believe that laziness should be rewarded
2) Do You believe that you should have to pay so that others don't work.
3) Do you believe that lazy people deserve all the same things as hard-working people like you
4) Do you support Socialized Healthcare?
Ok, this is pretty obvious, but do you honestly believe that people will give you the same answer on 4 if taking either poll.
Let me end the suspense, You won't.
Iron River Read my wife's comic or I will say mean things about your dog.
I suckered these guys into playing: Feedback Damage
You constitute a single instance of a person, which is a more or less an irrelevant phenomena.
I know my answer as well, because as a policy, I'm pro government sponsored Healthcare.
However for those without a ready answer a great deal will follow the beaten path laid without actually stopping to considering the relevant issues, especially if they are in a hurry.

WE AREN'T SAYING THAT JUST BECAUSE YOUR POLL ISN'T ACCURATE THAT YOU'RE NECESSARILY WRONG. For all we know nothing would change as the numbers increased. We just don't, and can't, until someone does the work and makes this wide scale.
But if you're going to trust in your answers as real scientific fact, you're better off just flipping a coin.
Also, how can you sit and just disagree with decades of scientific process?
And how can you think the results of the second question of this survey are inaccurate when virtually everyone who answered the question (including yourself), answered it the same way?
Dude. So you asked twenty people who all answered the second question the same way. So what? Now, let's flip the tables

Using 200,000 as the total number of Heroclix players (and after you get so large it fails to make a difference), and using a sample size of 31 (since this is the number of people to date who have answered question 2) the result we get is that with a 95% degree of confidence the survey results are accurate within 8.68%. This of course doesn't take into account "Bias" or "people not knowing their own opinion" or any of the other arguements that have come up in this thread. That Scientific enough for ya?

Cause that's just silly
Will it appease you if I word my "results as follows":
The results of this survey based on the 31 people who choose to answer this survey and who also claimed to know their own opionion, showed overwelmingly (93+%) that powercreep doesn't affect their purchasing habbits.
Would it be fair if I worded my "results" like that? Then if you don't like the results you can just tell those folks they're full of it, and they shouldn't bother participating in surveys as their answers are no more correct than a coin toss. (Oh wait, you already did that.)
Are you implying the only people who are racist are the ones who say "I'm Racist".

I would give the same answer. And I see from two posts down that Gentlegamer would as well. And I find it interesting that you equate "lazyness" with "low income". Who is lazier a guy sweating his ### off for 40 hours a week flipping burgers for minimum wage? Or a corporate executive having 3 martini lunches and leaving work early on a regular basis to make his tee times?
And which of those two people are more likely to not be able to afford healthcare for himself and his family?
And BTW, aren't you the guy who suggested a poll would be MORE ACCURATE if several non-sensical questions were asked before the actual question was asked? Aren't you specifically attempting to disprove that very idea with your example?
I didn't ask multiple silly questions designed to bias anyone. I asked two questions only: 1> Do you like powercreep? 2> Does powercreep affect your purchase.
Clearly question 1 didn't bias anyone as I got a fairly even distribution of answers to that question....and question 2 was answered almost unanimously the same by everyone regardless of how they answered question 1.
You constitute a single instance of a person, which is a more or less an irrelevant phenomena.

You think people were in a hurry voluntarily answering my "Two whole one word answerable questions"?
