On subject. These new pieces have me stoked!!! Hopefully there are no dud SRs (looking at you Mephisto) to impede this set's sweetness. I want to buy a brick but I've noticed you can get a CUR set on the realms for 50-60 dollars, so I might go that route and then trade/buy the SRs I want. Hopefully this set is like Monsters and Mutations and I end up wanting all the SRs.
Back off topic: I wasn't big into Morrison's X-Men run, but I still enjoyed it and think that Marvel should have continued the ideas that he presented in it. Rather than pissing all over everything Morrison worked on because...he went back to DC or whatever it was.
Wait. When did that happen?
The only thing major they undid was Magneto being Xorn. Cause it was a terrible swerve and destroyed the character. Everything else is pretty much still in play.
The run was fairly awful anyway. So I wouldn't mind seeing it all go away.
The issue with trying to do Wolverine/Daken as a repaint or as the Skrull dual-card thing is the claws. Wolverine's erupt from between the knuckles on each hand. Only two in each set of Daken's erupt this way, the other coming from under the wrist. I'd prefer to see them with different sculpts.
They could just do Wolverine/Daken with their claws sheathed.

Yeah. I wasn't a traditional X-Men fan, so I can understand some unrest through the changes he made. Really the only thing I didn't like was making the Beast look like a cat, but after that I thought it was great to make the X-Mansion into a school and show the lives of the students. The Riot at the Mansion was really well done in the Clockwork Orange kind of way( Mutant enhancing drugs and creepy prep school outfits)
The Xorn reveal with the recrippling of Xavier was a huge shock and made a lot of sense if you read it all the way through.
And the idea to reduce the mutant population with the sentiel genocide was cool too.
Yeah, Quesada turning his back on everything Morrison wrote was dumb, just because it wasn't a traditional looking X-Book. Its the main reason why I stopped reading comics(after what Quesada did to JMS and Morrison.) It really hilighted the fact that there were no consequences in comic books, and that stories can be retconned at a whim, and what mattered was to keep the books in a stagnant- no change- state, in hopes of gaining new readers while alienating those who stuck with and enjoyed the story. That and they gave the book to Chuck Austin right after Morrison...
Getting Back on Topic: Since they have the classic looking costumes, I hope we get older villains like Molten Man, with a trait that allows him to move through hindering terrain and melt through blocking terrain and walls.
Spiderman is the reason I got into comics, I hope they give us more spider villains than Sinister did.
Man, this will be the longest three months of my life. I need them to start previews tomorrow or something(Too early I know, but really I don't care!)
Last time I checked, which is every comic book ever...
Neither Wolverine or Daken walk around 24/7 with their claws popped.
By that logic, they also don't walk around 24/7 with their claws unpopped. The most stand-out, blatantly obvious feature of their powers is the claws. Sort of like sculpting a Hawkman without his wings. Logic dictates he's got to take them off sometime. Do we want a sculpt of him without them? Probably not.
Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Hawkman without his wings on woudn't be Hawkman.
Wolverine and Daken don't stop having their claws when they're sheathed.
