The Eye of the Storm – Emergency klaxons sounding
==================================================
“What’s going on!?!” Jenny yelled over the noise.
“Sorry, to wake everyone up like that,” Midnighter says, “but we have a situation. They’re transferring Marc Slayton.”
“Lucas, hon, we’re not on the same page as you yet,” Apollo smiles at his lover.
“Midnighter’s real name is Lucas?” Jenny turns to Jack Hawksmoor.
“Not now Jenny,” he whispers a reply.
“Marc Slayton,” the Engineer announces getting everyone’s attention, “AKA Backlash, was recruited by Jenny Sparks to Stormwatch in 1998. He left the team 8 years ago after his first mission with Harry Tanner.”
“What happened with Tanner?”
“It doesn’t say exactly, OP report is incomplete. Slayton told Adam to dump Tanner. Adam One didn’t listen.”
“What does this have to do with the alarms?”
“And why does his transfer matter.”
“After he left Stormwatch, he went to work for the US. He helped found the Majestic Project and lead their first field team, Team One where he trained some of the members for Team 7. Eventually he would help Amanda Waller and Steve Trevor found ARGUS. It’s not clear exactly what went down, but 5 years ago Waller had him imprisoned in the Menagerie.”
“So what’s the hurry?”
“When you mentioned the recruiting drive, I immediately thought of Marc. I had read his file in the Eye’s personnel database. I ran him by Angie. She found him in the Menagerie. I was going to wait until we had a better team to break him out, but we won’t be able to get him once he’s transferred.”
“We can break him out of the Menagerie, but not where else he’s going?”
“ARGUS just finished a new Prison called the Blue Site. Think Belle Reve, but under Lake Superior. It’s the most secure site on the planet, and they’re transferring Slayton there tomorrow.”
“So what’s the plan tall, dark and broody?”
“Three times a day a truck leaves the Menagerie and heads for other ARGUS facilities. Marc will be on the first one . . . “
“How do you know . . .”
“Don’t ask. It’s his thing.”
“Jack, Swift, Apollo and Angie are on the exfil team. Jack will make sure that the truck heads to an abandon part of Detroit – not to far to find these days. Angie will futz with their GPS to make sure that the signal keeps moving even when they stop. Apollo will cut open the truck and Swift will retrieve Slayton and fly him to a Door. Angie will inject some nanites to make sure that the guards don’t remember what happened. Then Apollo, Jack and Angie will put the truck back together and send it on its way.”
“That easy huh?”
“I’ve already seen it happen.”

Here's a Tentative Schedule. I really tried to make a Marvel & DC Divisions, with 1 week of crossover games, but with 9 teams I just couldn't make it work. I tried a couple of web sites that had schedule builders and they also ended up having teams playing each other twice.
I'll rework it, as best as I can, for Home & Away. Let me know what you think.

“Marc’s safe, but won’t be recovered for a while thanks to the power dampeners. Who’s next? Shen has become quite the fighter. Daily Kung Fu lessons from the time she could walk, combined with speed and those wings. She’s impressive,” the others smile bemused at Midnighter’s praise. “I’m not sold on the kid.”
“Go easy on him. He’s probably the most powerful person here.”
“Besides, Jenny likes him,” Angie smiles.
“And I’ll take confidence in young love on the battlefield,” Midnighter sneers. “In the meantime, who’s next?”
“He really can be romantic. You should have seen him in Miami,” Apollo smiles and Jack would swear he just saw Midnighter blush.
“To answer your question. We’re going to Opal City. There’s an occasional ally of Adam-One’s and the occasional adversary of the Thirteens and a few others. He’s cultured, powerful, and immortal.”
“Immortal could be good. What are his powers?”
“He’s like the reverse of Apollo. He calls himself the Shade. He controls shadows from another dimension. The shadows are often living things. Even he’s not sure how they work."
“Do we need a some one like him on our team then?”
“Yes. He’s not bogged down by hero/villain or good/evil. He might serve his own purposes, but he’s protected Opal for years and would be interested in protecting the planet.”

An outdoor café in downtown Opal
==================================================
Angie hadn’t been off the Eye except for a few fights in more than a year. She had used the nanobots to make a purple sun dress and a pair of amber sunglasses. She had pulled her hair up, and then drew the nanobots inside – just below skin level. There was nothing to distinguish her from any other art loving denizen of Opal City.
A man in all black, sat quietly with a cup of coffee and a newspaper in the corner of the patio. While there was nothing that stood out about his manner of dress – besides the monocormatism of his attire – yet there was something distinctly Victorian about him.
“God, I love Opal!” Jack exclaimed inhaling deeply and stretching his arms wide. “It’s like an Art Deco Seattle without the rain. The city is just quirky – in the best sense of the word.”
“There he is,” Angie said pointing.
“Let’s introduce ourselves.” The two walk over to his table and stand politely. “Excuse me, Mr. Swift?”
“Only process servers and assassins call me Mr. Swift,” a dry English voice responds. “So which is it?”
“Neither. We’re actually . . .”
Angie interrupts, “My name is Angie Spica. I’m called the Engineer. This is Jack Hawksmoor. His other name is overly pretentious (even if it might be true.) We would like your help.”
“My, my,” said Shade closing the newspaper. “I appreciate your candor, Miss Spica. Not everyone would be so forthright. I’m in a chipper mood, so I’ll hear you out,” he waved to a waitress, “They’ll need cups, too, please.”
“We’re with Stormwatch. We believe you knew a former colleague of ours, Adam One.”
“You’re with Adam’s outfit, eh? Haven’t seen him in awhile. How is he?”
“We think he’s dead.”
“I wouldn’t count on it. He’s harder to kill than I am. He’ll likely outlive us all. Why do you think I can help?”
“We know your experience and powers.”
“That is to say, you know that I’m not usually seen as one of the “good guys.”
“You’re not a superhero, and neither are we. You’re willing to kill to achieve your goals, but you avoid that when possible. You have a unique set of skills.”
“Most importantly you’ve proven yourself as a protector. This city isn’t crime free, but there are no gangs, major crime organizations, or other superpowers in Opal. This is remarkable for a city this size and that’s thanks to you.”
“Which is why I can’t go to your clubhouse and play. I’m needed here.”
“You are. The city wants you here, and I’m not inclined to take you away from her. We still need you. Come with us now. Take the tour. Meet the others. If you like what you see, you’ll be on call. Our unique form of transportation will let you meet with us wherever we might be.”
“Alright, I’ll take your tour. First, enjoy the coffee here. Let’s talk of other things and get to know one another, shall we.”
“Absolutely. Angie, have I mentioned how much I love Opal?”
“Yes. Thank you for the invitation, Shade.”
“Cheers”

There has just been the 1 pre-season game since we went to the 8 game regular season some 5 seasons ago. (Back in the day, there was just 6 regular season games, but 2 pre-season games and a mid-season games that only counted for stat gathering purposes)
Me too, it will help me figure out how to do all of this and correct any mistakes made along the way! Though I'm not happy about having to face so many "dirty" marvel teams (5 of 8 games!!!)!
