So in the end I had the right answer, just not the right phrasology or method of reporting. Heh. Good show, Flashback.

When it comes down to it, all the cards are still good.

The ink comes off with a light alcohol/water solution, and even with the ink still on there, they're playable.

Which is nice, because I didn't actually have any of them except for the DGL ones. So I put WW in a deck. See, everyone won something. :-)

What was the fake answer you could get by not solving properly? I couldn't find it.

The three cards with letters on the back translated into three sentences, using funky's code. Those three sentences were something along the lines of "a dove can ask in code", "the mime is in here" and "the bird can say". That isn't exactly correct, but I dont have the cards or my papers with me at work.
The word "here" actually translated into hwrw rather than here, which was a mistake. (if you translated it properly, it became said that k=w, but you also saw that w=e, so when done improperly the translation produced the letter e, which was required to make a sensical sentence.)
again, the specific letters might be off, because I dont have the cards with me, but that's the explanation of the "wrong" answer.
