I'm still not sure about Frankie Raye, I lose so much time against deck that killed me on Turn 4 (even turn3) I do not know if it really matters to have an ultimate Combo who wins on turn 5 or 6.
I do not care if a deck is strong. It's just boring if it's Combo is unbeatable and infinite really early in the game. Like Chimp/Valeria/A day for example. Still I do regret Valeria bannishement as it totally tossed the Comon enemy deck. And maybe a Huge errata would have solved the problem.
I do not want that to happen with the Herald of Galactus' deck. I'm not personally playing Frankie but she totally fits on her universe in her deck.
What made Adam Prosak win the PCLA was not Frankie, it was Devil's Due, I guess. Frankie Helped for sure but did not do it all alone.
The same thing for Nenora/Frankie/Nega deck. If you bannish Nenora the deck is a little less Oiled. And with that deck obviously you do not win before turn 4.
When I'm Thinking about Frankie's Problem, I'm Thinking a solution next to Shadowpact with something like Otherworldly Battle/ June Moon and if you wish Absolute dominance or Remove from Continuity.
I'm a little bit the devil's advocate. I'm curious what would have happened if Light Show had survived to play ag'st JLArkham, and what either deck might do ag'st Frankie Raye. If one broken thing had been allowed to continue and dominate I can see the harm. If four ridiculously broken decks had emerged, they would have had to battle for supremacy.
A bad environment is when one deck rises to near invincibility. In the past couple of months we've seen at least three "degenerate" decks emerge. Maybe we need to put the ban hammer down and give the environment a chance to fix itself.
so you are a yu gi oh fan then?
if Lightshow woudl have been allowed to stay in the enviroment, do you think the game would still be here? same goes with the other stupid crap.
When UDE started banning things for VS, they went with one card at a time, then maybe 3 was the highest one.
You know what happens when we just leave the format alone?
UDE is forced to do Yugi style, banning 13 cards every 6 months and making decks more and more generic. When more than half of the playing field brings decks that are 5-6 cards off of each other, that's not net-decking at its best.
That's the game at its worst.
That was PC New York. That's was PC Indy. That was what PC LA was going to be, and that's where PC Sydney is heading.
I just wanted to add my voice to the Frankie MUST be banned side of things.
I can pretty confidently say that there are more broken things than what has been revealed so far.
I don't usually post on VsRealms, so you have no reason to trust me. But it does stand to reason, that whatever has been posted here, there is still something better out there. I have been a big part of the VS scene since Origins and talk to a lot of people. The only people I know who don't want Frankie banned are ones who (and this is a bit of guessing) think their Frankie deck is way better than anyone elses, so will win in a degenerate environment. This is not good for the game.
can someone post an example of how one of the deck's goes off? because I dont really see what the optimal curve is. Are other cards in the curve a problem as well?

Look on page 3 and 6. You've 2 decklists posted there...

It depends on which version of Shadowpact you're playing... Shazam and Cap Marvel's one or "RUSH" deck(not really rush but winning on turn 4 even 3 sometimes it's quite good)?

I'm gonna have to go ahead and disagree with you on this one.

You can't ban the payoff cards. There will always be payoff cards. As has been hinted at in this thread, the "best" Frankie decks haven't been spoiled, and I'm sure they have different ways to kill you.
