Was it the move to New York? I'd never heard of that one before.

When our story opens, the Question is investigating an impossible locked-room murder mystery involving a midget and a 6'6"-tall call girl into heavy bondage. Don't worry, I'll explain later. It's all vitally relevant.

I never heard of that either. I know Batman was originally in New York. That's not what I'm looking for.
Jay really was originally based in NYC before that was changed to Keystone City. I wish they'd used a different name for the city tho, because I keep thinking of Roscoe Conkling Arbuckle.

Depends on how you think of him, and if there's a bottle involved.
DC never got too creative with the names of their fictionopolises, did they? I think "Metropolis" is the only one that doesn't have "City" or "Town" in its name. And most of the Golden-Age heroes' cities weren't even identified by name; to this day I don't know where Dr. Mid-Nite operated.

Probably wherever his patient needed surgery.

Now now, Roscoe was never convicted and the bottle thing was just a rumour that was never proven. Originally, it was ice, then a coke bottle and then a wine bottle.
And I like to think of him as a cop, hence my thing against Jay's city's name. I half expect him to get a speeding ticket from a member of the Keystone Cops.
No one got this, so I'm declaring the thread open.
In the original telling of the Golden-Age Flash's origin (Flash Comics #1, 1940) Jay did not fall asleep during the experiment with the hard/heavy water; rather, he knocked over a beaker while smoking a cigarette. Usually omitted from modern retellings.
That's one of them I'm looking for all 4. Hint Plastic Man turned into the only female in the groups dress.
Oh, I thought you were looking for a singular member of the team. I just assumed Plas got there first. I was also thinking of the Fenris storyline.
Ok, the team sent out consisted of Plastic Man, Big Barda, Orion, Green Lantern and Steel.
It hasn't been that long since I last read that story, but I can't remember which GL, so I'll go with Kyle.
You are right JTR. Pretty sure it was Kyle. I forgot about Steel even being there but looked it up and you are right.
I remember they were picked for a specific reason. None of them knew Bruce was Batman at the time, and the rest of the team worried that the martian might telepathically pick up on that secret and tip-off the martian.
Now, I need to think up a new question. I'll be right back as soon as I can think of one.
