the subject of Fiends and Zombies comes up here and again. Fiends are very versatile monsters. They work well to supporting a Zombie theme. In reverse however, Zombies require a lot of tightly knit construction to work well. As was mentioned, many of the best Zombies are Tribute. Those that arent tributes really support the direct theme so closely, that its hard to fit in other types (aka Pyramid Turtle and Soul Absorbing Bone Tower)
But, lets look at ways that they do fit together.
Dark Jeroid
Slate Warrior
these monsters will reduce opponent's attack and make it easier for Red Moon Baby, Decayed Commander, and Zombie Tiger to get in there and have fun. They also work well for supporting Vampire Lord since, as it was mentioned, VLord doesnt like the battle too well.
Dark Mimic Level 1
Dark Mimic Level 3
Des Lacooda
Surely its easy to see what these 2 Fiends and 1 Zombie have in common. Now the question is, "what are we looking for?"
Well, you could contribute to more thinning with Giant Germs and have a lot of Exodia like strategies...or maybe you want to get that 1st Sarcophagous out early for the Spirit of the Pharoah or some of those King of Skull Servants.
Speaking of Skull Servants, Fiends have their own assortment of level 1 effect and normal monsters that could easily make a fun power Weenie deck. King of Skull Servants, Goblin Kings, and DNA Surgery could fill a field up quick with 5 beefy monsters.
Dark Necrofear takes a lot of support, what with 3 Fiends needed to summon her. However her level of 8 and the fact that she has a sub par 2200 attack, makes is oh so right for those who want to bring out the mammoth Zombie: Berserk Dragon.
Other 8* monsters to support this would fall more easily on Despair from the Dark, but Invader of Darkness is not to be ignored.
A last one for now: Sword of the Soul Eater was quickly buried along with many AST commons. However, using it to equip to 3* monsters like King of the Abyss, King Fog, Armed Zombie, Zombie Dragon, etc can have some potential. Especially seeing as they slip easily under stall cards like Gravity Bind and LLAB
Anyways, there are some ideas that have popped in and out of my deck sleeves in the past. Im not as fond of some of the beatsticks like Regenerating Mummy in a mix. But then I dont know if I would simply stick Giant Orcs in a Zombie deck either, you know?
Newdoria is like a classic black shirt. Goes with everything.
Hmm I still don't really think fiends+zombies=PWNAGE...but oh well....
Anyway, I browsed thru the TLM and CRV spoilers today and Ancient Gear Beast really caught my eye, I mean it's effects are great.....=/
oh and does anybody here have yvd, I want to test some stuff out....
Okay, before I debut my new fiend deck, I have a question or two.
a) Does GEAF have a place in a deck that runs Deck Dev.? SHould it replace or run alongside Giant Orc?
2) Aside from Mefist, Ha Des, and Necrofear, are there any other notable tribute monsters to consider in a POst-October Ban deck? List at least a good reason aside from "High Attack" or "Works well with fiends"
iii) While fiends work well as a team, are there any non-fiends worth running, aside form Side-decked staples like Breaker and TiV
and fourthly, what sleeve colour/design goes well with a fiend deck?

a)I would stick to Orc, more DARK monsters= More chance of getting it along with DDV.
2) I kinda like Lesser Fiend, it's great tech against zombies...(imo)
iii) Like mentioned, Exiled Force is nice, so is Cybernetic Magician...at least I like him....him+DDV=Unlimited DDV fodder=)
1) I was going to ask, when you're running Giant Orc, are you doing a massive beat deck? If so, the more the merrier. If beating isn't the full aspect, then just keep the Orcs.
2) With the limiting of Tsukuyomi, I wonder if my friend the Inferno Hammer will see a little more use. For those of you not familar, here's the stats:
Inferno Hammer
Effect Monster / Fiend / DARK / 6 Stars
ATK: 2400 DEF: 0 When this card destroys your opponent's monster and sends it to the Graveyard as a result of battle, you can select 1 face-up monster on your opponent's side of the field and flip it into face-down Defense Position.
Single tribute monster, 2400 beating fun, AND you get the effect of being able to flip your opponents monster face down. This will tag team WONDERFULLY with a Mystic Swordsman or even with your Slate Warrior on the field.
3) The two most common "corruptables" that I tend to run in my fiend decks are Tsukuyomi and Cyber Jar. Tsukuyomi is nice with Creature Swap and unbalanced monsters, while a good Cyber flip really gets the momentum rolling. It'll easily disrupt your opponent, get Necrofood in your graveyard, and get some nice fiends out face up to wreak havoc.
1. What Attribute is Goblin Elite Task Force.....again? *stupid brain* Cant remember squat. I kept thinking it was Earth, in which case, DDV wont do anything.
2. Im a bit on the risky side. I love side decking Invader of Darkness. End of Anubis too, for that matter. EoA wont prevent you from removing 3 Fiends for Necrofear's cost, but it will prevent your opponent from flicking away that Necrofood. And then some. You were worried about Zombies?
If you are combining GEAF and Orc, then straight up BEAT award goes to Great Maju Garzette.
Rituals like Reshef and Zorc have amazing abilities, though maybe more deck central than support figures.
And, Inferno Hammer, like Dillie-O said, is solid choice for sleeper hit of the year. Especially for anyone hoping to keep alive the TER strategies.
And who could forget Lesser Fiend? Four armed dog faced, RFPing 5* morphable madness rolled up in an Archfiend package.
3. Corruptables exist everywhere. I currently corrupt the Maurauding Captain. Dark Magician of Chaos and Puppet Magic of Dark Ruler gives you IoD and Necrofear. Cyber and Tsuko were already mentioned. Mystic Tomato.....hello? Summoner of Illusions and Morphing Jar (1 and 2).
EVERYONE is corruptable! You should see my Kevin Tewart card :p
Sleeves? Are you goth? Blue inside Black. Find ones with the skulls and serpents slithering through the eyeholes.
I have a tendency for glaring contrast vs. harmony (dont ask) So one Fiend deck has orange sleeves inside red for that hellish glow and the other has neon pink inside lime green.(that one just plain hurts the eyes to look at. But that's why its funny!)
my alltime favorites are the clear backed ones. You can print out 40 copies of a picture you like and slip it inside behind your card. Nothing says Fiend like a mutilated bloody hand with the tatoo on the knuckles saying "O Z Z Y"
You have a Kevin Tewart card! I'll trade you my foil Curtis Schultz for it! I even have all the Demo Team memebers.
Yes, I suppose fiends do have a way of taking advantage of certain monsters. I do like my spellcasters, so it's no surprise a few of them have made their way into my deck. Breaker, Tsukyomi, Cybernetic Magician, Magician of Faith on occasion.

LOL! i would hafta say that was one of your funnier posts, anyways, the way i see it, Inferno Hammer (Opinion) works great for a replacement for tsuki and BoM (well, they arent banned, but still) and in a deck with Shadowslayer, this card spells trouble...trouble that starts with an "I" and ends with an "R"

hmm, so you're using the smaller sleeves(those meant for ygo and stuff) inside the eh ''magic'' sleeves? I've got a set of those dragon ones, they look really pimp, but they're basicly too big for ygo, so I used some no-color-sleeves(forgot how they are called) inside the dragon ones for a while, but IMO it doesn't really play well......
Well, while things may look cool, just keep in mind that the double sleeving and custom backings won't be tourney legal. If the custom logo has been machine generated onto the sleeves to ensure that they are all in the same position, you'll be good to go. But I really hate for you to be at a tourney with the slick lookin' double sleeves and wind up getting deck checked and disqualified.
Me? I'm straight black, fiendish to the end. But really that's becaue my wife had alreayd taken the green sleeves, my favorite color 8^D
For those of you checking things elsewhere, my Seduction deck had some seriously good results during playtesting last night. I had Mazera out on my first turn and two turns later had Zerato out. The opening "User Delinquent Duo" and the subsequent "Monster flush" is just REALLY hard to get around. And when you have a Jammer and 7 Tools ready to prevent any sneaky tricks, it becomes fiendish indeed. 8^D However, DES has the best suggestion of all, Berserk Draon! <scurries off to work that in />
Oh, technical, technical! When do I have a chance to participate in official tournaments?
*grumble, grumble*
rub it in, why don't you?
:p:p:p
You will now do as I say*Waves*
1.You'll take a week off.
2.You'll make a supreme masterfull fiendish deck.
3.You'll go to some kinda big tournament.
4.you'll pwn everybody at that some-kinda-big-tournament.
5.You'll use this cool smilie 8^D that dillie-o keeps on using.
THEN you'll thank me and sent me a gift...*waves*
Don't know wth I'm talking about...wth get a life and go watch some SW movies =P
PS: Has any of you actually won a big tournament with fiends...yet?
I don't know about the large tournament thing but its definently possible
Now here is what I'm wondering.I was looking around trying to see what people are planning to use.I always study the "new cookie cutter" because it makes it so easy to beat and I noticed that fiend beatdown is high on the list.So I'm sitting here figuring outhow to make them pay for only using the brute force of fiends. Then I found him:
Goblin King
Dark/Fiend/1/0/0
This card cannot be attacked if there is another Fiend-Type monster on your side of the field. The ATK and DEF of this card become the number of Fiend-Type monsters on the field (excluding this card) x 1000 points.
PROS
lv 1 meaning it has quick summon and morph capabilities.
gets power boost from every fiend (possible attack of 9000)
can't be attacked if you have another fiend (2=lock)
common
CONS
0 atk if no other fiends
easy to take out other fiends and then hit him
horrible top deck (true top deck.no hand or field)
I was going to use him in my Dark Realm deck (if it doesn't become the next cookie) and i thought "...................crickets chirping.........................Ah there it is!"With the ability to become stronger by your monsters and their's with or without DNA Surgery would be cool.
So.does this card belong in every fiend side deck now or not?

I don't really like monsters that don't stand a chance on their own and if we would stay realistic, it'll most of the time be a 1k or maybe 2ker.....
So I would say: '' Make him a deck....''
