No correct answer yet. I don't think the charcater ever appeared anywhere except that one calender, so I was counting on his obscurity to make it a tough question...if no one gets it soon, I'll spill and ask another question.

Or... you can be tied to a chair and Pepsirox will dress up in a pink tutu and smack you with a rubber hose whilst asking you, in a german accent, to confess.
OK, the create-a-character winner was Capricorn, submitted by one Joe Binggeli of Marina, California. (IIRC, the contest parameters called for a creation utilizing the contestant's Zodiac sign). The prize was a drawing of the character by jazzy Johnny Romita.
New question....It has been said that John Byrne based his Dark Phoenix storyline Hellfire Club characters on real life actors, ie Robert Shaw was Sebastian Shaw, Donald Sutherland was Donald Pierce, and Orson Welles was Harry Leland (a take on Welles' The Third Man role, Harry Lime, I believe). Whose likeness and name did Byrne use for Mastermind?

CuCr is ALMOST right...the details are a little off...the actor's name is not correct, and the show, while in the correct genre and country, is incorrect.

I never heard of an actor named Jason Wyngarde. Peter Wyngarde I have heard of, but he did guess star on a few episodes of the Avengers. He did play a character on another show and the character was named "Jason". King I think was the name. Which, when I think about it, goes well with the concept of the Hellfire Club.
