Great game, Fredwood. I could tell from my role pm and the other pms confirm that you've got a lot of love for the theme and I think that goes a long way.
I like the nonstandard roles, especially the "choose your own kill" type, misdirector with a vest, and block with a random information grab. Claim this #### in an average game and nobody would believe you. I like the conscious decision to skew in a direction (less protection) from what we'd expect. I like that you gave the mafia an extra member, knowing the town was kinda strong.
I like how the combination of open theme, ghost write, janitor, kill giver and shapeshifter made the character composition of the town really unclear. The nonstandard roles meant you couldn't just claim THE town cop/doc/tracker etc, either. Had to rely on behavior until near the end.
If anything, the game was a bit scum skewed as an unreliable vig and doc with a big mafia could have resulted in a route the other way.
I'm not sure if I get Grizzz's power. He'd get three random players, pick one and then get a scene if he picked one of the three?
Then he would get 3 random visions each night. It's how he knew someone was tying people up or confusing people with Italian, etc.
If his target was in one of the visions, then he learned about the interaction. Who targeted whom and with what.
Essentially he'd become more and more powerful as the game went on, both because the odds of him hitting on a premonition as the player size dwindled increased, and the fact that he learned what was in the game and could kind of piece things together as it went along.
I wanted to try something different with an info gatherer. They're almost completely hamstrung by luck and then if they do get lucky, then they're completely useless endgame. I wanted a role that worked in reverse.
Getting into meta, as a player if I'm a tracker or RT, I like playing things within a chain. Following my targets target on the next night. Piecing together patterns and tendencies, I usually have a good grasp on end game. So I created a role that plays a little like I do I guess (I'm weird) and is an alternate way to bust scum other than the typical spray and pray.
Ironically he got scum because of ridiculous luck, so that's mafia. Though at the end he had you and Killingjoke cleared, just because of the patterns he saw in his visions.
I keep trying to push towards scum because mafia hasn't won yet. This was the first time I played with the "format" as far as numbers. I'm a big believer in the 25 percent rule.
He tried to power cop you but got no results...Guess he was just playing a read, or he just wanted to make sure you weren't all weird messing with targeting because of his last role in my game.
I really enjoyed the game, Fred! Sorry I was a little scarce throughout but I'm glad I could be useful to the town down the stretch. Night two was a bit of a fluke, but I was distrustful of chaz so it wasn't random targeting. I just got lucky with the interaction I saw.
My role is really interesting and I'd love to see it further experimented with in the future. Night 4 I basically was able to see the night interactions of every player in the game, and was able to pick out claimed roles and narrow down who the killer was. In that respect the role may be a little OP, basically a mass track plus I would have learned exactly what my target did no matter who it was.

Well, if I weren't jailkept, that would have put a target on me regardless.
Night Two Death seems to be a common thing for me in the mafia renaissance.
I really tried not to kill Linkor N1! He was my first random.org target, but since we'd exchanged info I decided I was going to try and let him live. Then when I got a second kill I randed him again. Sorry, apparently the atmospheric noise they use really doesn't like you.
I was really bummed my PGO didn't kill anybody. One because it was such a deliciously evil idea (even if Fred wasn't cool enough to let me be a mass PGO ) and two because we didn't get to see Snake Jailbird.
Add that to the fact that we doubled up on killing DBoy and I got MD'd into gfish (who was obviously the last mafia after confirming me as Joker) and really the random numbers just didn't go our way.
Anyway, it was fun being SK, especially as an inventor. In case anybody was curious:
N1: Venom (untrackable) and Blue Raja (janitor)
N2: Snake Jailbird (PGO)
N3: Apu (bulletproof)
N4: Dr Nick (undoctorable)
Also have to agree with JoH, I always love the unorthodox roles (and they've inspired mine in the past). Thanks for the game!
Gratz to the winners and thanks for the game, Fredo me laddo.
Just one comment - the mafia had no defensive powers. No JK, no RB, no doctor, no BD. With only 4 members, basically we were hosed after losing one person. So yeah - there was bad luck involved but I do feel that the town was stacked, resulting in a mafia curbstomp. All the same, not being a sore loser, it was a fun game after all.
