It seems that people (who complain about Outwit) are always complaining about Outwit being used on a damage reducing power (Invulnerability, Impervious, Toughness)... Maybe the fix should be directed towards that? But to me, Outwit is fine, if your opponent has several outwitters then just stay out of their lines of sight :D
I see the merit in end of turn outwit, but I can see where turdburglar is coming from.
If I was to change outwit it would cost an action to be used against a more expensive(outwit lasts until the end of the turn is this character loses outwit as a result of this action), but remains a free action against equal and cheaper opponents.
If there was absolute freedom, people would run over babies and charge admission.
Originally posted by Rynth Outwit begins at the end of the current turn and ends at the end of my next turn. It gives an opponent whose brick has just had his defensive power outwitted a turn to move the outwitted piece before the beat down begins.
Uhh, that would be very, very pointless.
Had I outwitted a defensive power, I'm going to smack the danged fig RIGHT THERE, RIGHT NOW. I ain't going to wait until the beginning of my next turn, when the outwit dissipates anyway. Uhh, where's the logic in that?
On topic, I've went up against 3 outwits and come out the victor. It's all about positioning, pushing to take out the outwitters, because most outwitters are front loaded and only good at that time, hit them off their outwit, they're a 2nd tier attacker at best. Besides Batman, none can really hold their ground after losing outwit.
Just my 2 cents...stop whining, beat it or quit it.
Are you a PbP'r (Play By Poster)? Come and check out www.creationmatrix.com; we've got EVERYTHING.
We restricted outwit as follows:
1> Outwit does not affect any power on the defensive portion of the dial.
2> Outwit works at the range of the outwitter or 4 in the case of a figure having a 0 range.
3> Outwit can only be used when a figure with outwit takes an action. (any action...it just can't be used on turn the figure passes)
We've been using it for months and it goes a long way twards making "Bricks" playable and balancing things.

So on your turn you Outwit my VERY expensive character's Impervious. You pour on the damage.
So my turn comes around and, lo and behold, I am now on some pretty useless clicks
...
Hey I just noticed that clickwith this font looks like ... the first name of Nightwing's secret identity
This is great, I can call someone a click and no one is offended, but I know what I mean! (This by the way is the reason that no character in the 1950's could be called Clint and no one could use the word flicker (spell 'em out in caps)

No, whatever you outwitted stays off until the end of your next turn, so you still get the chance to beat on the fig you outwitted.

You know he's an outwitter before he outwits you, so you can just go attack him first, or stay out of his LOF.
I'd be willing to cede maybe one minor limitation to outwit, but that'd most likely just be the range of it. Throw all this other stuff on it, and it might make some bricks a bit more playable, but it'd dilute the playability of the smaller folk. maybe.
at our store we have lots of fun with outwit, i like to play outwit chars combined with firelords(deadly) + the perplexers. i mean if you cant outwit a firelord u pretty much lose the game becasue i mean he has a huge def to start then drops so fast so he is easy to heal, so if u cant outwit supoort from a medic or ranged combat expert, you are pretty much sure to lose the game. outwit is cheap i grant u but when i play 600 pt games good ol galactus laughs in the faces of outwitters
Is outwit powerful? Sure it is. Can it win you the game? Sure it can. Can you smack the #### out of a character and make them lose it. Sure you can. Its not even that hard to do. Line up a TK'er 11 spaces away and have them throw up anyone with Charge. Smack the Outwitter and then proceed to quit complaining about Black Panter being to good. And that's just one way to deal with it. Maybe the problem isn't Outwit. Maybe its that people don't want to use stratgey, in a strategy game. Just my two cents.

How many Charge figures do we have that are 27 pts or less? Because anything you throw at the Panther will be toast after the opponents turn and if you loose more than 27 pts in the process that would be a pretty bad trade off and bad strategy, IMO.

....to beat an opponent. I went 3-0 yesterday. I had no starting OUTWIT on my team and when OUTWIT showed on the dial I never used it. The last game was versus a team with multiple outwit.
