"Y'know Stephen," the Beast said, "that really gives me the willies."
"I'm sorry, Hank," Dr. Strange apologized. "It was necessary." With a word from the sorceror the all-seeing Eye of Agamotto dislodged itself from his forehead and returned to its resting place inside the amulet at his throat.
"What does your mystic eye show you, Strange?"
"They are inside, the vampire and Batman as well, plus two of Batman's allies - Nightwing and Robin."
"Robin?" Beast asked. "Isn't he only, like fourteen or fifteen? I'm not sure I like the idea of fighting children."
"You were not much older when you started at Xavier's School."
"True, and Bobby was younger than I was."
"Don't underestimate him for his youth." Strange said. "He was trained by the best."
"If we know they are in there," the Surfer asked, "should we not move in before they can establish themselves defensively?"
"Knowing what I've heard of Batman," the Beast said, hopping aboard Norrin Radd's surfboard as Strange's cloak of levitation lifted him into the air, "he's probably already prepared."
The Batmans split and like Robin and Nightwing, find a hiding spot to view their targets. They know it won't last but they take whatever advantage they can.
Recall, only your most expensive piece actually gets to use the TA, so Vampire Batman is stealthed. Regular Batman just has the normal hindering terrain bonus.
"My stars and garters," the Beast said, loping quickly through the lobby to the cover of the food court, "there are more bats in here than in the Mets dugout." He was through the doorway before either Batman could get a shot in at him.
Um, there's no way Nightwing in K10 can Outwit Beast in H13. There's distinctly a wall in the way. If you wanted him to Outwit Beast, you'd have to move him all the way to H14 or G14, and either way, you'd be basing Beast, so he wouldn't really need his charge.
The Beast leapt out from cover and came feet first at the vampire.
"Boo!" he said.
His joking was abruptly halted when the vampire moved with amazing swiftness, and his feet merely connected with the wall instead. He recovered adroitly, bouncing off the wall and regaining his feet just in front of the vampire.
"Hm, not bad," McCoy admitted.
The vampire said nothing, merely poised himself to attack.
The lobby was lit by a corruscating blast of energy from the Surfer at the newly emerged Nightwing. Nightwing was ready for it though and threw himself flat against the floor. When the blast stopped, the area behind Nightwing was a steaming wreck, but the hero himself was unharmed.
"My goodness, Surfer," the Beast said, "and they wonder why insurance rates are so high around here."
