Over the past year I have come to understand the true meaning of Heroclix. The green lantern ability is the best way that can be exhibited that this is first and formost a STRATEGY GAME.

Should the green lantern ability be able to carry fliers? Sure i believe it should, but that would make those pieces crazy tough to play against. And any team that had a green lantern on it would be crazy crazy tough.

Not to turn this into a how can the game be bettered thread ( ok maybe that would be ok ) but what do you guys think of this option to bring the game back to a more centered position regarding pieces and their usefullness.

When the game first came out there was no real advantage to having a flier, except for the fact that they could taxi. Now I am not about to come out and say that NAAT has to go away. On the contray I believe that it has helped to balance the game. But I would ask this question.....and answer honestly.

Which would you take. A flyer or a grounded fig if they both had the same stats and powers? Well I know that I would take the flier. Because they have many more options at what can be performed with them.
1. They can taxi
2. They can yoink items on a charge
3. They can fire out of base to base
4. They ignore hindering terrain on movment

The list goes on and on.....

I hear all of the time individuals wanting to change outwit, perplex, and all of these other powers.

I say leave the powers the way that they are, but begin to change the way that fliers are allocated for cost.

Why not cost the fliers much higher than they are now? They have a ton more options at attack an movement than the grounded figs. Shouldnt that be adjusted to the cost of the fig?

What i am getting at is this. Fliers should cost well over the amount that grounded figs cost with the same powers. This would greatly afffect the way that teams were being built for tournaments and such.

I went to a tournament just last weekend, there were no teams that did not have a majority of fliers. There are a ton of figs that are not being used because they are just not viable to use on teams....because they are grounded.

Now some may say that all wizkids needs to do is just not make as many fliers in the next set.....but that does not completely work because people will just not play the grounded figs and will only play the fliers.

In closing I would like to say that if the fliers are not going to be costed at a higher rate then they should have to abide by the laws of the grounded clicks in one major area.

FLIERS SHOULD NOT BE ABLE TO FIRE OUT OF BASE TO BASE. If WK revoked this ruling you would see a complete change to the way that teams are formulated. Tieup pieces would become usefull again, and all flier teams would have at least be on the same offensive level as those that are all grounded.

i will end my rant now but it would be great to get your opinions on this matter.
