Catwoman looked at the Checkmate Agent and the costumed woman from where she was crouched behind the fountain.
"We can take those two," she said. "You take the guy, I'll take the girl."
"Cheetah's moving toward us," Batman said.
"Are you sure?" Catwoman asked. "I didn't see anything.
Batman didn't bother answering; he simply moved away silently, into the shop where Cheetah was. A moment later, Catwoman heard Batgirl and Spoiler come up behind her. "Okay. Bye," she said.

Scarecrow will push to attack Batman. Using Clayface's AV of 9 thanks to the Batman Enemy TA vs. DV of 16. Needs a 7. Rollsa 7! (5+2). Batman takes 1 click, and so does Scarecrow for the push.
Cheetah Charges to P8 and attacks Batman. AV of 9 vs, DV of 15. Needs a 6. Rolls a 7 (6+1). Roll for BCF is a 5! Batman takes 5 clicks.
Cheshire moves to N10, and is stealthed on the object. (Hello Catwoman!)

Don't forget to roll for Shape Change if you target Clayface!
Also note that Cheshire will not use her Combat Reflexes unless someone rolls doubles when attack her (ie. I'll use it to protect from Knockback damage, but not to make her get kncoked back when attacked).
Christ did not come to condemn the world, but to save it.
Cheshire and one of the pawns moved carefully forward. "Batman is not to be underestimated." She whispered. "We will need to strike hard and fast once we engae him, bringing our full forces to bear."
Meanwhile, the head Agent spoke quietly into his communicator. "Command, what are our orders regarding the other bogeys in the area, over."
Mr. Bones' smooth voice replied, "See if you can't recruit them to our cause. They could be of enormous help to take down the Bat."
"Roger that" said the Agent, Clayface nodding to his approval.
Meanwhile next door, Cheetah screwed up her nose. "We've got trouble," She said to Scarecrow. "I've picked up a lot of scents heading this way, including....the Batman."
Scarecrow looked scared. Not the Batman. It was to be expected he supposed. "What should we do?"
"Let's get out of here while we still can. Leave the hostages." Cheetah snarled, making hastily for the door.
"Not so fast Cheetah." came a deep voice from the shadows. Batman was already here.
A puddle of clay suddenly appeared between them and then grew into a large humanoid shape. "You've bitten off more than you can chew this time Batman." A Checkmate Agent moved into the doorway, blocking his escape.
Batman gasped. He had been too hasty - trying to impress Selina, and now he was stuck in a room with three dangerous opponents. Two of them, he could handle, but Clayface tipped the scales against him.
Batman took an open fighting stance, ready for the attack. Cheetah and Clayface were the more dangerous opponents, and so he was taken by surprise when Scarecrow slashed at him with his scythe. He rolled out of the way, causing just a graze on his arm, but before he could recover Cheetah had punced on him, ripping into his stomach with her claws and causing him to grunt in pain.
"NO!" Catwoman yelled, hearing the commotion. She leaped into action.
"Ah-ah!" Cheshire said, stepping into Catwoman's way. "If you want to save your boyfriend you're going to have to deal with me first."

You shouldn't be so satisfied, for two reasons:
1) I made a freakin' dumb rookie mistake in not Outwitting Charge again. This is a problem I've had ever since I've started playing; once I Outwit something, I just kinda forget about it.
2) You have to admit, the BCF roll was simply lucky. You can't argue that point.
So, there you have it. You're playing a rookie, and you still needed luck. I wouldn't feel very satisfied about that.
Anyway, my turn.
I could run away, but I don't see a way to Outwit Charge, so I'll just go out fighting. Wait till you've seen the twist ending I've cooked up.
Batman will Outwit Clayface's Toughness and attack. Needs 7, gets 5 + 2 for two clicks. (Shape Change roll was a 3.)
Catwoman will Outwit Poison on Cheshire.
Batgirl to L-13, and Spoiler to K-10.

I guess I'm at the point where winning isn't really a goal so much as just taking as much with me as I can. Oh well, less stressful that way.

I must say that killing Batman is a sweetly satisfying experience.

Actually you couldn't have Outwitted Charge. That's why I put Clayface in the way- to block Batman's LOS to Cheetah so that you wouldn't be able to. Since you couldn't move Batman or Catwoman to be able to Outwit it, there was no possible way for to have done it.
If I hadn't've rolled high for BCF (and 5 is not the maximum either) then I would've pushed Clayface or the Agent to attack as well. So I was prepared for a low BCF roll. I just needed enough to make sure he'd lose his Leap/Climb.
But you're right in that I needed luck to pull it off. I might have missed the initial 7 needed to attack with Scarecrow, or the 6 I needed to hit with Cheetah. Or I might have rolled a 1 with BCF. Or I might have rolled nothing but Crit Misses (which wouldn't surprise me against Batman ) Like I said, winning in Heroclix is threefold between strategy, luck and team composition. You did give me a pretty good team compared to last time. Cheetah is awesome and rates in my favourite DC pieces, as does Clayface who is quite underrated by most people. And Poison is always fun.
So this move was a good example of that, with part of it being strategy (positioning of figs, blocking LOS for Outwit, use of Batman Enemy TA and Plasticity), part of it luck (hitting my attacks and getting a high BCF roll) and part of it my team (Cheetah, Clayface and an extra Batman Enemy to share the attack).
I still enjoy giving Batman a beatdown. It's nothing personal, it's just that he's one of those figures that has given me a major headache at times in the past, and so whenever someone plays him I just want to KILL it. Same goes with medics, Con Artists, V Nightwing and OWAW Superman.
Err...hate to mention this too, but you can't Outwit Poison. Outwit requires LOS, and so if someone is stealthed, even while adjacent, you still can't Outwit them (barring X-ray vision TAs and Feats). It's one of those really dumb rules that makes no sense at all. If you want to change your move as a result, go right ahead (perhaps you'd be best to push Catwoman to attack Cheshire, seen as how she's going to take a click anyways).
