Anyone read else Superman: Confidential #2? Great fricken book so far! Superman is still unsure about what he's able to withstand, In an attempt to save a place from lava flows, he burrows deep into the Earth, but when he starts having lava cave in on him, he panics and thinks he almost drowned. He ends up having a heart to heart with his dad, which is touching. Whenever one of them morons claims that DC's heroes aren't down to earth, and are all about their powers, and identities as heroes (or the suit) point them to this book. So far, 2 issues in, we're really seeing the human side of the Man of Steel. Rated an 8!
Edit: BTW, Tim Sale's art just doesn't do much for me. There's some good stuffin there, but overall, his art just blows.

WTF???? They relaunch a new Arthur Curry as Aquaman, they have the Dweller in the Deep as the old Arthur Curry, and what do we get....an old tale about talking to Seahorses old AC. Sorry. I was onboard for the new guy. Thought it was a good Conan underwater take. This was not necessary and destroyed a lot of momentum for this book I feel. The storytelling wasn't bad...just a momentum shift in the wrong direction in which low yielding books like this can't afford, I think.
Manhunter #26: 9 of 10
REJOICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kate's back and she's doing pro bono for Wonder Woman. She also shows some good mettle in the training that Wonder Woman is teaching her in the fight scene. Turns out that the world might have "forgave" Diana for murdering Max Lord but the US Govt is after her since he was a federal agent. So...... someone in the shadows wants WW dead or locked up or both. Cameron Chase gets a nasty phone call from Dr. Trapp (think trapjaw from He-Man) and Mark Shaw sees the Order of St Dumas somewhere in the Himalayas. Just solid storytelling and a perfect jumping on point for new people.
Honestly, this book is so underrated it's a crime. New TPB is out, too. Next weeks cover has the Ted Kord on it. Should be interesting.......
Superman Confidential #2: 9 of 10
Just perfect old school storytelling. And I'm a sucker for Tim Sale art. Pretty much what darth sabre said above except the Tim Sale blows part.
Batman Confidential #1 : 3 of 10
This brought nothing new to the table. Whoa LexCorp and Wayne Industires are after a contract. However one of the Wayne robots goes mad (maybe?) and starts trashing Gotham. Oh and Jason Voorhees is in this one.......well kinda in a guy wearing a hockey mask type of way. This story really didn't go anywhere for me and it was nothing special.
Detective whatever # it is: 10 for 10
Man can Dini tell a Batman tale. And in this case Robin. Robin ducks for cover in a gang fight only to find it's the Joker offering him safe haven. Then it's all about Joker killing people and making Robin watch. Robin of course turns the tables and escapes. Simple and fun. Good storyteller and I liked the art, too.
Batman #whatever: 6 of 1o
A new Bats villian who takes skin from his victims and wears a patchwork skin mask on his face called Grotesk. He has a big flamethrower apparently too. Also the Russian Mob is introduced here, too. Completely forgettable. The cover doesnt' draw me in either. good thing I buy Bats religiously.
Oh yeah....BUY MANHUNTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! or at least try it, please.
Should the WildStorm stuff be reviewed here as well? And, if so, am I the only one who picked up Midnighter?

Nope. I picked it up as well (well, let me rephrase that - my comic supplier is shipping it to me so I won't have it until Monday). If it's as enjoyable as the first issue, then it's worth the read.
And I strongly support and re-emphasize Bubblehead's recommendations for "Manhunter" - Kate's first "run" was fantastic and there's a reason she had enough fan-following to get an "overturn" of the cancellation; she inspires "passion" in her supporters because she's such a well-thought out and interesting character. Actually it's entirely appropriate that she's a former lawyer as she's "complicated and unique" enough to fit right in with "Boston Legal", another "series" where characters you really shouldn't like keep you coming back for more and more.

Fixed it!
This book was AWESOME. It had some really sadistically funny parts in it. i hope I didn't wake my wife, cause I was laughing so hard! My only disappointment is that I thought it was an arc, not a one-shot. Awesome!

Dr. Trapp? Nice!!! I may have to check out this comic, now!
Now, for a little history on Dr. Trapp if anyone wants it.

Seeing him back makes me really happy. Maybe, if I'm good for the rest of the year, Ostrander and Mandrake will be put back on the Martian Manhunter book and they'll fix it.
Proud to be Straight Edge
In the time it takes you to read this, I'm hitting on your sister. If she doesn't take the bait, I've got your mom on hold.

Joker: LET ME TALK TO YOUR MANAGER!
Manager: How can I help you?
Joker pulls out a gun and shoots him at the drive thru, starts laughing.
I think that's how we all feel at one point in the drive-thru's.
And yes the book was a bit sadistic but it's the Joker. And Dini knows his Bats/Villians. Can't recommend this enough.
To DarkFlash...... Happy to let you know. Please check it out! If I know Andreyko, you'll be seeing Trapp for at least 2 more issues.

Yeah that was a great part in the book. I really should be picking this up, especially since the mandate for this book is to get back to the Detective part of Batman's character.

But wasn't the Joker just shot a few issues back by a fake Batman?
Anyone compare the current story in Action comics with one from many years (pre-COIE) ? Where Supes finds a baby, seems like a kryptonian kid, turns out later to be a Bizzaro baby as it mutates? Anyone remember ever reading that story years ago?
Supergirl #12 - Rated 9 - A pretty decent issue. I really like the art. Kara meets the new Terra and learns a few things about Superheroing. Still not REAL keen on the Emo-Kara but the issue was good none the less.
Well, this issue did have one of my favourite "Well,duh!"-moments of the year : namely the caption in the first panel that said, "This issue happens after issue #10". Considering it's Issue #12, I would hope so.
