Well, Alan Grant has already established waaaay back in the 4-issue mini-series (Lobo's Back) that Lobo cannot die. You can frag him down to atoms and he will regenerate because none of the Afterlife places want him there.

They even stated this in his origin in the 52 origin of Lobo a few issues back. It may be a cop out as he technically dies but then comes right back. I'd rather not see any of the trio die really, why? It would make a better story to see these three escape Styx's clutches and make it to earth to warn everyone.
if you read this then you lost 10 seconds you'll never get back.
Unfortunately, it is Buddy that they are killing. Not to mention how lame it is that Supernova is Rip Hunter. I am a JSA fan, but I am not a huge Rip Hunter fan.
Oh, well.
All the powers that they have shown Supernova to have, I am surprised it wasnt figured out earlier. Guess I just overlooked the obvious.
To be totally honest, I really hope all of the spoilers I have read on this are wrong.
I can agree with Supernova being Rip or Booster or the both theory. The only problem that I see though is Rip Hunter is not mainstream very few people know of him, granted they can always do some JLoA flashback story where the League looked up Rip for some time travel advice, it just seems odd that Ralph knows him though, professionally they have never met, at least historically(meaning in print).

The only surprising thing about it poissibly being Rip Hunter is that Rip Hunter was the obvious choice in general. To have it not be a twist and not be a red herring. Hiding the answer in plain sight would be a surprise.

It might be Lobo, as to have none of them be dead forever, but odds on leader to die? Animal Man. Characters who have creative control tend to get written out of stories to avoid having to deal with the creator.
I'm not sure of Supernova except that it's not Rip Hunter.
But as for the dead space bound hero...Dan Didio wanted Nightwing dead in the Crisis, but fan outcry changed that. Given the two characters' history, killing off Starfire would be a nice retaliation, editorially, for nor getting to have his way with Dick.
I actually look forward to next week, just because this week's was kinda dull...
it took a friend of mine to point this out, but once he did it all clicked,
i'm 99% sure that supernova is ray palmer. all supernova's powers can be preformed by the atom's suit. super strengh and flying? density control. what seems like teleportation is mass control. even the name supernova. don't forget white dwarfs are the after effect of a supernova, the atom's powers come from a white dwarf. he knows where the batcave is, and is freinds with ralph. he's probably trying to make up for joan's part in the identity crisis. ray makes more sense than anyone else and to be honest if it's anyone else i will be severely disappointed in the writers.

that would be very cool for Ray to return that way. I'm not certain it is him, but that could be very cool.
