A word of caution, though: that team is one Pulse Wave or multi-target EE away from having a very bad day. Especially facing a Nova Blast team, your whole strategy can go up in smoke very quickly. Even just realtively high AV attacker with Charge/Running Shot/HSS can zip in and tag Jakeem and you really don't have any kind of a back up plan.
This is what I was thinking as well. First figure that came to mind was V. Emerald Empress. She hits a Nova Blast for 4 Damage....bad day.
I thought that poison was a different kind of damage. The card says "damage dealt by this character cannot be reduced below one", oh, poison, IS deal one damage. I get it. very nice.

Yup, even without the Armor Piercing, Poison is very effective against high DV soft targets like KC Green Lantern or Jakeem while he is on his Defend clicks.
Throw some Armor Piercing on there and even Doomsday has to keep an eye on those pesky Posion figs
Yeah, it's a weird phenomena that happens at this shop that I think you might be in right now. New players here all obsess over Jakeem Thunder.
Your team is good, but if you're using older figures anyway (destiny, harley), for their cheap support powers, then what you've got to look at is that there are a TON of cheap figures out there that do what you're looking to do, and usually much cheaper than what you're paying with newer figures.
Rookie invisible girl defends everyone (from stealth) at an 18. One less than pushed Jakeem, true...but for a FRACTION of the points. So you can have another attacker or two.
Your whole team seems to be based upon your opponent missing. In a good fight where your opponent lands as many shots as you do (this is not hard to imagine- many older figures have very high attack values, and experienced players will often manipulate the game state to create an almost can't miss situation [perplexes go to attack, probability on the attack, shielding from your probability control, etc]) then you're probably going to see your team fall apart before theirs does, simply because this team doesn't have much offensive capability.
I congratulate you on your recent successes...but if a single player (and a new one at that) tore through the galactus and starro events, I would venture that your venue is not a terribly competitive one (this would seem to be reinforced by a Jakeem Thunder team featuring only the Ray as a dedicated attacker being a house killer). I don't say this to belittle your achievements, rather to encourage you to continue building your skills. Take that team to a large con and see how it does, for example. I believe it would open your eyes to some elements of competitive play, and it would certainly be fun!
