I don't think Sinestro will be executed. They forgave Jordan, they didn't kill Superboy Prime, they are some forgiving little blue buggers.

Surprisingly, Ganthet is a card carrying member of the Southern Party.

With that hair? He looks like a blue midget version of Colonial Sanders!

Ganthet's foreign policy would be a disaster, trampling into other countries like he has some cosmic entitlement, and responding to diplomatic problems with troop surges

Well, the whole colors-representing-"emotions" idea is new, so those who are more well-versed in the GL mythos don't know a lot more than you do. The idea that fear was represented by Sinestro's ring and the idea that Parallax was a unique entity, a kind of cosmic fear god, never existed until Geoff Johns took over following the Rebirth story.

As far as the colors other than yellow, that is even newer. The ideas, though briefly hinted at in recent issues, were never explained until Green Lantern #25.

Separate note:
Have you guys noticed that the Black Lantern symbol is identical to the symbol worn by GL's enemy the Black Hand? You know he's going to be playing a big part in that storyline.

Even having not read GL recently, I had a hunch...

He might be, but he wasn't born in the USA. That's why I said it'd have to be one born here. And, I said he was a member of the Blue party. Kinda like Ralph Nader is a member of the Green party. Only problem there is around here, green means one of two things.
One, it means jealousy, and two, tho only if green is worn on a wedensday, it means you're horny.
Blue means "sad". It's a sad canidate, and you'd be too if you were a midget with a badly receding hairline and the only seemingly compatable females were all cue-ball heads who used to be male.

I didnt realize that black hands symbol is the same as the black lanterns but I looked and your right, and I knew anti-monitor wouldnt die but never expected him to become the source of the black lanterns rings (i think thats what happend at least lol)

I also loved what was done with Cyborg Superman.

So, the colors/emotions are.

Violet: Love
Indigo: Compassion
Blue: Hope
Green: Will
Yellow: Fear
Orange: Greed
Red: Hatred/Rage
Black: Death/despair?

Since Black isn't really a part of the spectrum, and is actually the absence of light, I'm betting all the corps working together make a White light construct.

Ganthet also said that the further away from central that the color was, the more control over the person the emotion would have. So even though everything above Green seems "good", they may do bad things in the name of that emotions. "Mercy killings" and whatnot.

Also in this issue we find out that Earth is the most emotionly lush planet. So it goes to figure that each corp would have at least one Earthling. So who would go with which?

Here are my guesses.
Violet: Starfire. Not really an Earthling, but recently depowered and needs a new pupose. Plus, in Kingdom Come, her daughter has Violet blasts.
Indigo: Probably a doctor or something.
Blue: Hal's Brother.
Green: Position is filled.
Yellow: Batman is most capable of spreading fear, but Nero has one right?
Orange: Penguin or Luthor.
Red: Maybe Jason Todd, maybe someone else.

There are some many dead people who could be good Black Lanterns. Alex (Kyle's dead gf), Hal's dad, Connor Kent, and Ted Kord (if booster doesn't save him). Which brings the question of how the Scarab plays into all of this.

Has there been any mention of the Blue Beetle into the color spectrum? I had thought the Scarab was being tied into the cosmic color guards when the GL rings kept freaking out in the presence of the new Blue Beetle, and when the Wizard Shazam started hyping up the Scarab's importance.

Also, as avatars of Hope, I don't think one could do much better than Ted Kord and Jamie Reyes, the DCU's perpetual under dogs, always just trying to do their best. Both come off a lot like a DCU Peter Parker, always hoping to not let down the team.

Will and greed are emotions? And there are only seven types of emotions and love doesn't include compassion? Weird.
I guess they didn't want to make the pink corps of joy or the grey corps of sadness...

They made the pink corps of love, pretty close.

I think 6 billion year old blue midget gods have a more developed definition of what they call emotion than the English language readily provides.
