Another PW question:

HOT Odin w/ Nova Blast and Extended Range -- If I read this right, before Odin Nova Blasts he can increase his range to 13 (7 halved) and then NB for his full damage (5)...and not take the 2 clicks 'pushing' (because of Power Cosmic)...right?

Sorry, but he does take the pushing damage, as the pushing from Nova Blast ignores powers and team abilities. If you were to do this on an indomitable fig like Ultron he wouldn't take the damage though, as indomitable is neither a power nor a team ability.

this brought a funny scenario into my head;

double target mind control, one perplexes up a pulsewaver's damage from 10 away, then you take the other and move him within the pulse waver's range.

Also, Odin has an 8 range. Per the rule of three, you could only effectively increase it to 11 (6 after PW).

Another trick is Endurance. You can put the two tokens on the card. Sure you're eventually taking a gamble, but it's an instant payoff and you might even be able to hit it twice. (Pulse Wave a second time, that is...Nova Blast is one shot).

If I remember well, the increase from Extended Range comes after the replacement from PW, so he would reach 7.
But can he declare PW action if no targets are in range before using Extended Range ? What would be the exact timing in this occurence ?
And by the way, what would happen with this combo :
the new Ultron + Extended Range + Nova Blast ?
Would I be able to deal 4 damage 3 squares farther, since Nova Blast deals the unmodified damage value ? Or would the damage still be reduced by three due to ER ?

Yes.

As long as the end result will yield a legal attack, you could do it. This has been ruled as such in the past. One example is Out Of The Shadows.

Correct. I had a bit of a brain fart there (forgetting "replace then modify" order with simultaneous effects)... but that doesn't change the fact that Odin has only an 8 range, not a 10

If his range was 10, he'd actually be able to get a 8 square reach out of the whole thing (10/2 +3 = 8).

I wish you could shoot a pulse wave when based. But that might make it broken I am not sure.

Just use Elite Sniper; it grants the ability to characters with RCE or Super Senses... and plenty of PW-er's have RCE or Super Senses.
