I thought this podcast was fine. I have no real comments on the content except that I agree with sentiments on duos.
I'm equal parts DC/Marvel. The one major thing I dislike about DC (and the fanboi-undercurrent it has generated in the last ~25 years) is that Bruce Wayne has been elevated to god-hood.
Even after "Dark Knight Returns" it was essentially an unspoken and accepted fact that Batman simply wasn't at the power level of most of the characters he hung out with in the JLA....and then somewhere along the way the folks at DC felt that it was necessary to not only have other characters obliquely comment that Batman was "scary enough" to hang with the heavy hitters, but that Batman had to routinely be *shown* to take out heavy hitters, practically on demand.
This bothers me only because it is nigh-impossible to reconcile the power-level of criminals Batman routinely faces in his own books (Joe Chill) with the threat levels he would face in other books (Darkseid).
OTOH: This doesn't bother me at all when it is played for camp in the Batman:The Brave and the Bold cartoon.
I just started listening to the podcast (haven't heard this one yet) and I agree, you need to either divorce the comics aspect from the game aspect, or get a DC fan in there. I'm more of a DC guy than a Marvel guy, but I can talk about clix without mentioning the fact all the time. You guys seem a little hung up on it. I don't have a lot of patience for the DC/Marvel wars, always seemed pointless to me.
I do enjoy the podcast though. I would totally love to be a guest. Listening to it makes me want to do my own.

It's like in old comics. All origins and powers announcements had to be made to let new readers know who these people were. We always announce it for anyone who might be a first time listener, so they know when we don't know what we are talking about that it's not because we are ignorant, it's just we don't read DC.
It's not about a Comic Publisher War. It's just we don't read it all. When it comes to Clix, because of our comic backgrounds, it's hard for at least me to build a team with DC when I have no idea who half these guys are. Especially since I like a more Comic Accurate Format to my game play.
I usually don't play to win, I play to have fun. I make comments, comic book quotes when I play. Can't do that with DC, don't know any, so it's hard for me to get into it.
Doing the podcast with just Gudda and I is hard enough. Even harder enough to schedule in a guest. So getting a third host (DC) on a regular basis would probably be even harder.
I understand where you are coming from and with the new format we are using, I'll see if we can't change something around to make it work better for everyone.

And I think you may have hit on something-- you guys are also lukewarm on HoT (the 'casts I did listen to) becuase you aren't into the comics it's based on.
I play clix as both a comics-thing *and* as a game thing, so it's easy for me to appreciate a piece strategically even if I don't know the characer. And in a lot of cases, that led me to check out the comics (Exiles, for instance).

illinois. Gudda is in Maryland.
Any yes, but both Gudda and I have been brushing up on our Thor lore. I for one am all caught up on the new series and find it insanely awesome, but am afraid of where it is going.
I am actually feeling sorry and sad for some of the things that are happening. It is written very well. I fear for Doom's safety as well.

Don't do anything drastic. The show is really good. The not DC guy thing seems to get mentioned alot. I just wanted to say that as a clix fan the DC figs could get a bit more love if not the source material. That was all. I feel like I caused you guys to get beat up or something. Read what you want and do your show how you want. If people don't like it no one is forcing them to listen.
