He's not bad for 48. His keywords don't match up to what I normally use, but I will probably use him some for the AE mechanic.
well to be honest Theme teams are worth less not to play since BFC are legal in Modern Age tourneys, along with Feats, so you lose the cancellation of the theme team, its easier to get a PC on your team then trying to meet the pre-req for theme team, so the only real bonus now is the bonus to being player 1.
Now if yu just like playing theme teams for Comic accurate then that is difrrent.
If you want to play Clark, you can either play him as is or you can have Superman hanging around on the sidelines for a chance to step in. If Clark gets to his last 2 clicks, you can make a power action to bring Superman into the game, but he starts on his 3rd to last click and can't be healed past the orange line. All of this will only cost you 48 points
If you want more of a punch, you can start Superman on his green starting click and pay 216 points and have some good HSS fun. Both pieces will be fun to play, and I look forward to playing both versions very frequently.
Also, there are currently 3 figures available for Modern Age play that are less than 48 points and have perplex. Jimmy Woo has it on his 3rd click, so he is not a great choice for this purpose. Howard the Duck has to push off of stealth to get perplex, and I have seen him used for this purpose alone. BA Penguin starts with perplex, and that is pretty much all he is good for. In all 3 of these options, I think having the possibility of switching to a 4 damage dealing charging brick is a huge bonus and is worth the 13 points over Howard (the current cheapest figure).

I agree. I think he's very playable for 48 points. It's a bit of a gamble to see if he'll make it to the AE clicks, but if he does he's worth it. It might even make him more of a target knowing that he can switch into Supes at any given notice.
It's like Michael Jordan going to the YMCA to play basketball.

so if hes a target leave him at your starting area, then the opponent will be coming across the board to KO just a 48 figure and you KO more then 48 points of their figures for trying it.
I always find myself using figures that people are afraid of as bait.
you can still push him right? Is the phone booth still legal in modern age? If so you could use this too right? If these to are legal actions with AE i think it well be fun to play them.

Hehe, I was thinking about this as well. It's in Justice League so it's still legal. It's also pretty fitting that they step into the Phone Booth to take the damage to turn into what ever their AE is.

So yes? Part 2, I know he can't be healed past his orange line, but he does take damage past it to his KO slots right? Like he changes back to Clark Kent?
Going along with the Phone Booth idea, looking at Clark's dial, you can get there and turn into Supes by Turn 4.
Turn 1, you move onto the Phone Booth and take 1 damage.
Turn 2, you take another click and push, taking a total of 2 clicks.
Turn 3, you are now onto the click with the AE and pushed, so you clear.
Turn 4, you are free to change into Supes.
Obviousely you want to stop short of that click but stay on the Phone Booth. If you can stay on the click before he gets AE, then you can stay on it and on the phone booth until you want to change. Then just take the click and use a power action to change into Supes. I'm pretty excited about this mechanic now that I start to understand how it works.

Also remember that he is not a unique. I can totally see fielding 2 of him Warbound to each other (in golden age). Turn 1 Use Clark 1 to run to the phone booth, and give the token to Clark 2. Then do some other action with Clark 2 and you have 2 Perplexes instantly to boost the rest of your team. Keep the rest of your team busy protecting the Kents for 2 more turns, until you can switch Clark 1 out for a Supes and carry Clark 2. Now you have a fun Warbound pair, and if Supes gets KOed, you can switch Clark 2 out for another Supes.
I think this could be a pretty effective punch for only 106 points, throw in some barrier for some added protection.

The way I understand it, is that after he changes into Supes, he's changed and is on the last 3 clicks of the Superman dial. Once he takes enough damage to land on a KO slot, he's out of the game.

It's definately got potential. I'm pretty excited to see Bruce Wayne and the rest of them now.

Yes, if Clark gets hit for enough damage, he will be KO'd without changing to Superman. It is not like Doomsday's power where damage stops there when th power shows up. You can play Clark without ever activating him to Superman.
Random question (and don't feel like starting a new thread):
If I have 2 Clark Kent figures and 1 Superman, and after I change 1 Clark into Supes and Supes gets KOed, can I then change my other Clark into the recently KOed Superman figure? I don't really see why I can't, but I can also see them ruling it to where you have to have 1 Superman figure for each Clark if you want to use it.

I don't see that being a big problem. You wouldn't be able to have them both be Supes at the same time if you only had 1 Supes figure, but there's actually not any requirement that you ever change him to Supes to begin with, so I'd say it'd be fine to use the same Supes figure.
