As a "Judge/Envoy", I have no prpblem following they're "this prize this week" plan. I DO have a problem with them telling me who gets what! I'd rather ask the 1rst place winner what He/She wants, followed by Fellowship and then 2nd. I can't be the only one bothered by this!

That doesn't look too bad. Besides if you finnish 2nd all the time then you deserve to be treated as a bridesmaid! :kidding:
It is almost upon us! Are you prepared for the Quarmageddon?

Back when there were two separate prizes, I had First and Fellowship roll off for first choice. But I understand your point.
I had a funny realization: If you take out the Lanterns and the second-place prize, it breaks out to ten weeks perfectly. Twice for each LE, once for each ATA. The Judge gets one of each LE and ATA.
I'm just guessing here... but I think the Lanterns were a surprise add-on, and their good intentions got the best of them.
Could be, the venue contact that I got the info from was in a rush before he left. I thought it would be best to share even if there was a typo or two.
Like RavenProject said, it's much appreciated (check your rep) and I agree on posting what you can. You can always go back and edit if it turns out there is a typo.
If I were judging this is what I would do............
1st, 2nd, Fellowship, Judge
Week 1: LE (1st choice), LE (2nd choice), ATA, (Judge LE - choice)
Week 2: Object, Object, ATA, (Judge ATA)
Week 3: LE, LE, ATA, (Backup Judge LE)
Week 4: Object, Object, ATA, (Judge ATA)
Week 5: Object, Object, ATA, (Judge ATA)
Week 6: LE, LE, ATA, (Judge LE)
Week 7: Object, Object, ATA, (Judge ATA)
Week 8: LE, LE, ATA, (Backup Judge LE)
Week 9: Object, Object, Object, (Judge Object x2)
Week 10: LE, LE, Object, (Judge LE)
Giving the choice from the categorys listed in succession to 1st Place, Fellowship, 2nd Place, and then the Judge.
And then I would hand the maps out as follows:
1 for the Judge
1 for the Venue
The 4 players that came to the most events in Weeks 1-4
4 maps in reserve for New Players...Another way to get a map is to bring a new player
Which by the way I would heavily weigh bringing a new player toward the Fellowship vote.

I'm not bothered by them including a set of suggestions. I doubt I will follow tournament structure at all (I'll cater it more to what the local players enjoy with a couple more focussed on getting our local guys ready to play at Gencon and Origins).
I find that this decentralized tournament structure is very nice to work within, and appreciate that they put some thought into suggesting a PO Kit distribution.
My place is doing away with Judge prizes, so that means we are an autonomous collective.
1st place black lantern for 3 weeks in a row. no prize for fellowship, no prize for judge
i like this method, simply because Fellowship is biased, (i play at a venue where there are 3 groups of ppl that share clix within their group (of 3))
the judge normally doesnt have a consistent way of determining fellowship; other than "i gave it to you (or u guys) last week.
I would like 1st and second to be the prize one week, then the next week a new prize, and then the leftover from the week before (winner gets choice)
i dont like that judges get stuff for free anymore, and i am glad my venue is doing away with judge prizes, i just have to make sure i print up the PG and have it with me, i dont want the "judge" screwing over any other player when he starts playing (not saying he will, but it would be nice to have a second opinion on the matter)

Is this what one judge is doing or is this outlined what all the judges have to do for the next 10 weeks? (if it's the latter, thanks for the heads up!)
This is WK suggestion as to how to run an event series.
But you don't HAVE to follow it.
So set things up however pleases those who regurely play where ever you are.
BTW, I like how in one of the weeks they suggest giving one of the players 2 copies of the map. ???
