I take Enhancement every time over perplex.
Like today i had 4 enhancers that would do 2 damage each with a power range figure(batman/GreenArrow) that makes BA/GA do 5 damage and then each of the figures can deal out 3-4 each also.
With 4 perplexes it would be 5 damage then 2 damage each.
And for you - if I had perplex, I would laugh at you. Eg - 19 defense + ES/D + 3 perplex = 24 defense.

I use to play magic competitively, and the thing that I hated most about the game, were "strictly better than" cards.
Just like in Magic, there is very, very rarely a case of strictly better in Heroclix. It happens only on rare occasions, but a tiny fraction of the time there will be situations where even the "worse" thing will be preferable. And I'm talking in terms of all of Heroclix, not just the powers. As far as powers go there are clear cases where each has it's use.

Well - the same thing has happened to the abilities in heroclix!!! And I want an explanation.
If we have outwit - why do I ever want exploit weakness? It is a strictly worse ability. In fact, outwit is over 4 times better because it can nullify any ability (or team ability). Not only that- It is also in the damage spot!
The same goes with psychic blast. Just give me outwit.

What about Enhancement? When I first saw that zatanna had it, i was like "THIS IS SO COOL". And I put her next to green arrow and watched the damage fly!
Then I realized...wait a minute... enhancement is a WORSE than perplex! wtf!
So why....why would I ever want that.
Please keep in mind that I am speaking from a "gaming" point of view, not "flavor". Because - you can make the argument "well war machine shouldn't have outwit... it's not flavorful" . And I would agree. Thus - you see the problem. Wizkids needs to fix or re-adjust some of these powers to stop this horrible over lapping.
(while they are at it - tell them to nurf hypersonic speed)
Let me just put it out there - a team of hypersonic speed and outwit is all you need!
Hmmm. There are a good deal of things I could say to try and prove to you that you are mistaken, but given the tone, I'm guessing you either wouldn't listen or would simply try to find fault with my logic and position. So instead, I'll just offer you this adivice:
Play a few games. Like maybe 10 or so with some friends. Go to a tournament or two and play some rounds with some different folks who have different battle plans, strengths and weaknesses. By then the veracity of you statement will be revealed to you without the need for a lengthy debate with a lot of unecessary toing and froing. Feel free to report back to the group to let us know what you discovered.

yeah I agree with you there. The power creep tends to make the newer figures better than old ones, which is expected in all games. And with abilities, you're right, of course there are better situations for some rather than others.

I'd prefer to call him cheater... since your Black Flash could never have more than a 22 defense without some sort of replacement value like Defend. Maybe you should bone up on the rules before talking about how unbalanced they are?

It does not work like that. If you're going to declare your strategy superior, know how it works. Rule of three caps your defense at 22: still high, but still hittable by very accurate pieces like the aforementioned Green Arrow/Batman.

It's ok... your response was more civil so you get points for that.
Something else to consider regarding Outwit vs Psychic Blast/EW. Outwit is useless against Power Cosmic/Quintessence figures... guess what's not? Psy Blast/EW. Also having PB/EW allows you to use your Outwit on something other than defensive abilities (PC, Perplex, HSS, etc.)
It's not a "better than", it's different. First of all, different powers are costed differently. This should be so obvious it doesn't even need to be said.
Try outwitting an adjacent batman allies damage reducer. You can't do it, but exploit still works. What about if you don't have LoS until you charge? Once again, exploit FTW.
Does outwit work with multiple targets? Psy Blast does.
Enhancement will work on every adjacent character. Perplex doesn't do that. Also, the enhancer doesn't need to have LoF to the attacker at the beginning of an HSS or RS.
Well..there ya go...I really don't have to say much after this.
I can and have used the same Enhancement character for 6 range attacks...its glorious when you can.
Some clix cant have thier powers countered...EW and Psy Blast ftw (Power Cosmic and Quintessince especially).
Every power in clix has its place and use...rep to Matminus.
